Chapter 3 · Verse 235
अभि प्र वः सुराधसम् इन्द्रम् अर्च यथा विदे. यो जरितृभ्यो मघवा पुर्ञुवसुः सह- स्रेणेव शिक्षति
To the best of your intention and purpose and for whatever you wish to achieve, pray to Indra, lord of glory, world power and promotion and means of success, who gives a thousandfold wealth, honour and excellence to his celebrants.
हे स्तुति करने वालों, उस महान् इन्द्र की स्तुति करो जो धन-धान्य से परिपूर्ण है और अपने भक्तों को सहस्रों गुना धन, सम्मान और उत्कृष्टता प्रदान करता है। वह इन्द्र समस्त ऐश्वर्य और सफलता का स्रोत है, जिसकी आराधना से मनुष्य अपने अभीष्ट को प्राप्त करता है।
Chapter 3 · Verse 236
तं वो दस्मं ऋतीषहं वसोर् मन्दानम् अन्धसः. अभि वत्सं न स्वसरेषु धेनव इन्द्रं गीर्भिर् नवामहे
We invoke and call upon Indra eagerly as cows call for their calves in the stalls, and with songs of adoration over night and day we glorify him, lord glorious, omnipotent power fighting for truth against evil forces, and exhilarated with the bright soma of
हे इन्द्र देव! जैसे गौएं अपने बछड़ों को पुकारती हैं, वैसे ही हम भी दिन-रात अपने भजनों और स्तुतियों से आपकी आराधना करते हैं, जो सत्य के लिए लड़ने वाले, सोम रस से प्रसन्न होने वाले, महान और सर्वशक्तिमान हैं।
Chapter 3 · Verse 237
तरोभिर्वो विदद्वसुम् इन्द्रं सबाध ञुतये. बृहद् गायन्तः सुतसोमे अध्वरे हुवे भरं न कारिणम्
Bæhad gåyanta¨ sutasome adhvare huve bhara≈ na kåriƒam. In the yajna of love and non-violence where everything is perfect and soma is distilled, I invoke Indra like Abundance itself, giver of wealth, honour and fulfilment. Singing songs of adoration with energy and enthusiasm for your protection and progress, O devotees, celebrate Indra who brings wealth, honour and excellence at the earliest by fastest means.
हे इन्द्र, जो धन, सम्मान और पूर्णता के दाता हैं, मैं प्रेम और अहिंसा के यज्ञ में, जहाँ सब कुछ परिपूर्ण है और सोम का रस निकाला गया है, आपकी स्तुति करता हूँ। आपकी सुरक्षा और उन्नति के लिए ऊर्जा और उत्साह से भरे भक्ति गीत गाते हुए, हे भक्तों, शीघ्र अति शीघ्र धन, सम्मान और उत्कृष्टता लाने वाले इन्द्र का उत्सव मनाओ।
Chapter 3 · Verse 238
तरणिरित् सिषासति वाजं पुरन्ध्या युजा. Å व इन्द्रं पुरुह्ञुतं नमे गिरा नेमिं तष्ंएव सुद्रुवम्
Only the saviour, a person of dynamic will and action joined in the soul with a controlled and dedicated mind, would share wealth and knowledge with the people and distribute it over the deserving. With words of prayer I bow to Indra, the ruler invoked by you all and draw his attention to you just like the carpenter bending flexible wood round as felly of the wheel. (The lord is flexible too, his heart melts with sympathy for the people.)
हे इन्द्र, जो धन और ज्ञान के दाता हैं, मैं भक्तिपूर्वक उन्हें नमन करता हूँ। वे ऐसे हैं जैसे बढ़ई पहिये के रिम को लचीली लकड़ी से गोल बनाता है, वे भी भक्तों के प्रति करुणा से द्रवित होते हैं।

पिबा सुतस्य रसिनो मत्स्वा न इन्द्र गोमतः. Åपिर् नो बोधि सधमाद्ये वृधेइ᳓स्माँन् अवन्तु ते धियः
Åpir no bodhi sadhamådye vædheísmå~n avantu te dhiya¨. Indra, resplendent and mighty, karma yogi, great performer, come and have a drink of our delicious festive soma distilled and mixed with milk and cream, share the ecstasy, enlighten us, your own people, for progress and prosperity, and may your thoughts and wisdom protect, promote and guide us in life.
हे इन्द्र देव, आप कर्मयोगी और महान कर्म करने वाले हैं, हमारे स्वादिष्ट सोम रस का पान करें और हमारे साथ आनंद साझा करें। अपनी कृपा और ज्ञान से हमें प्रकाशित करें, ताकि हम प्रगति और समृद्धि प्राप्त कर सकें और आपकी बुद्धि हमें जीवन में सुरक्षित रखे।
Chapter 3 · Verse 240
त्वं ह्येहि चेरवे विदा भगं वसुत्तये. उद्वावृषस्व मघवन् गविष्ंअय उद् इन्द्राश्वमिष्ंअये
Udvåvæ¶asva maghavan gavi¶¢aya ud indrå‹vami¶¢aye. Come to give gifts of wealth and honour to the devotee so that the people may be happy and prosperous. O lord of honour and majesty, Indra, bring us showers of the wealth of cows, lands, knowledge and culture for the seekers of light, and horses, advancement and achievement for the seekers of progress.
हे ऐश्वर्यवान इंद्र देव, हमें धन और सम्मान प्रदान करने के लिए पधारें, जिससे प्रजा सुखी और समृद्ध हो। हे महिमाशाली इंद्र, ज्ञान और समृद्धि के साधकों के लिए गौओं, भूमि, ज्ञान और संस्कृति का धन तथा प्रगति के साधकों के लिए घोड़े, उन्नति और सफलता लाएं।
Chapter 3 · Verse 241
न हि वश्चरमं च न वसिष्ंहः परि- मΔसते. अस्माकम् अद्य मरुतः सुते सचा विश्वे पिबन्तु कामिनः
O Maruts, vibrant givers of light and energy, leading lights of humanity, the celebrated sage best settled and giver of settlement mentally and spiritually does not ignore or neglect even the last of you but honours you all. O lovers and benefactors of the nation, come today now itself, join and enjoy the delicious taste of our achievement in your honour in the structure and order of a great society.
हे मरुद्गण, जो प्रकाश और ऊर्जा के दाता हैं, वे किसी को भी उपेक्षित नहीं करते। आज, हे राष्ट्र के प्रेमियों और हितैषियों, हमारे द्वारा आपके सम्मान में तैयार किए गए इस स्वादिष्ट रस का आनंद लेने के लिए पधारें।
Chapter 3 · Verse 243
न किष्ंअं कर्मणा नशद् यश्चकार सदावृधम्. इन्द्रं न यज्¤ऐर् विश्वग्ञुर्तम् ऋभ्वसम् अधृष्ंअम् धृष्णुम् ओजसा
No one can equal merely by action, much less hurt even by yajnas, that person who has won the favour and grace of Indra, lord divine who is rising as well as raising his devotees high, who is universally adored, universal genius, redoubtable and invincibly illustrious by his own essential power.
जो व्यक्ति इन्द्रदेव की कृपा प्राप्त कर लेता है, वह कर्मों से किसी के बराबर नहीं हो सकता, न ही यज्ञों से उन्हें हानि पहुँचा सकता है, क्योंकि वे सर्वव्यापी, सर्वशक्तिमान और अपनी शक्ति से अजेय हैं।
Chapter 3 · Verse 244
य ऋते चिदभिश्रिषः पुरा जत्रुभ्य आतृदः. सन्धाता सन्धिं मघवा पुर्ञुवसुर् निष्कर्ता विह्रुतं पुनः
Sandhåtå sandhi≈ maghavå purμuvasur ni¶kartå vihruta≈ puna¨. Indra is that vibrant immanent lord of unbounded natural health and assertive life energy who, without piercing and without ligatures, provides for the original jointure of the series of separate vertebrae and collar bones and then, later, heals and sets the same back into healthy order if they get dislocated or fractured.
हे इन्द्र देव! आप ही वह सामर्थ्यवान, सर्वव्यापी प्रभु हैं जो बिना किसी चोट या बंधन के, शरीर की मूल संधियों को जोड़ते हैं और यदि वे विचलित या खंडित हो जाएं तो उन्हें पुनः स्वस्थ अवस्था में लाते हैं।
Chapter 3 · Verse 245
Å त्वा सहस्रमा शतं युक्ता रथे हिरण्यये. ब्रह्मयुजो हरय इन्द्र केशिनो वहन्तु सोमपीतये
May the hundreds and thousands of forces of nature and humanity harnessed to the golden chariot of the universe, radiant with light and dedicated to divinity, invoke and invite you hither into the heart so that we may experience the bliss of divine presence.
हे इन्द्रदेव! हे सोमपान करने वाले! प्रकृति और मानव की अनगिनत शक्तियाँ, जो आपके स्वर्णिम रथ में जुती हैं और प्रकाश से दीप्त हैं, वे आपको हमारे हृदय में आमंत्रित करें, जिससे हम आपकी दिव्य उपस्थिति के आनंद का अनुभव कर सकें।
Chapter 3 · Verse 246
Å मन्द्रैर् इन्द्र हरिभिर् याहि मय्ञुर- रोमभिः. मा त्वा केचिन्नियेमुरिन्न पाशिनोइ᳓ति धन्वेव ताँन् इहि
Indra, lord of honour and excellence, come by the rays of light, beautiful and colourful as the feathers of the peacock. May none, as fowlers ensnare birds, catch you. Outskirt the fowlers as a rainbow and come.
हे इन्द्र, प्रकाश की किरणों से, मोर के पंखों के समान सुन्दर और रंगीन होकर पधारें। जैसे पक्षी पकड़ने वाले पक्षियों को फंसाते हैं, वैसे कोई आपको न पकड़ पाए। इंद्रधनुष की भांति उन फंसाने वालों से दूर रहकर आप यहाँ आएं।
Chapter 3 · Verse 247
त्वमΔग प्र शँन्सिषो देवः शविष्ंह मर्त्यम्. न त्वद् अन्यो मघवन्नस्ति मर्डितेन्द्र ब्रवीमि ते वचः
Anga, dear friend, Indra, dear and saviour, giver of joy, omnipotent lord, self-refulgent and omniscient, reveal the truth for mortal humanity. Lord of universal wealth, none other than you is the giver of peace and bliss. I speak the very word of yours in covenant.
हे मित्र, हे देव, हे सर्वज्ञ, हे ऐश्वर्यवान इन्द्र! आप ही सत्य के प्रकाशक हैं, आपके सिवा शांति और आनंद देने वाला कोई नहीं है। मैं आपके वचनों को ही सत्य मानकर बोलता हूँ।
Chapter 3 · Verse 248
त्वम् इन्द्र यशा अस्यृजीषी शवसस्पतिः. त्वं वृत्राणि हंस्यप्रतीन्येक इत् पुर्वनुत्तश्- चर्शणीधृतिः
Indra, lord all powerful, ruler of the world, yours is the honour, yours is the creation of wealth and joy. All by yourself, unsubdued, you eliminate irresistible forms of evil and darkness by the power you wield for the people.
हे इन्द्र, आप ही सर्वशक्तिमान प्रभु और जगत के शासक हैं। अपनी अपार शक्ति से आप अकेले ही सभी दुष्ट शक्तियों और अंधकार का नाश करते हैं, जिससे प्रजा का कल्याण होता है।
Chapter 3 · Verse 249
इन्द्रमिद्देवतातय इन्द्रं प्रयत्यध्वरे. इन्द्रं समीके वनिनो हवामह इन्द्रं धनस्य सातये
Indra≈ sam∂ke vanino havåmaha indra≈ dhanasya såtaye. We invoke Indra for our programmes of natural and environmental development. We invite Indra when the yajna of development is inaugurated. Lovers and admirers dedicated to him, we pray for his grace in our struggles of life, and we solicit his favour and guidance for the achievement of wealth, honour and excellence.
हे इन्द्र देव! हम यज्ञ के लिए आपका आह्वान करते हैं, क्योंकि आप ही धन और ऐश्वर्य के दाता हैं। हम आपके भक्तगण, जीवन के संघर्षों में आपकी कृपा और उन्नति के लिए आपका आश्रय चाहते हैं।
Chapter 3 · Verse 250
इमा उ त्वा पुर्ञुवसो गिरो वर्धन्तु या मम. पावकवर्णाः शुचयो विपश्चितोइ᳓भिस्तोमैर् अन्ञुषत
Påvakavarƒå¨ ‹ucayo vipa‹citoíbhistomair anμu¶ata. O lord of universal wealth, O shelter home of the world, may these words of my divine adoration please you and exalt you. The saints and sages of vision and wisdom and fiery heat and purity of light adore you with songs of celebration.
हे विश्व के स्वामी, हे जग के आश्रय, मेरी ये दिव्य स्तुति की वाणी आपको प्रसन्न करे और आपकी महिमा बढ़ाए। ज्ञानी, पवित्र और तेजस्वी संत-मुनि स्तुति गानों से आपकी आराधना करते हैं।
Chapter 3 · Verse 251
उदु त्ये मधुमत्तमा गिर स्तोमास ईरते. सत्राजितो धनसा अक्षितोतयो वाजयन्तो रथा इव
Satråjito dhanaså ak¶itotayo våjayanto rathå iva. The sweetest of honeyed songs of praise and vibrations of homage rise to you flying like victorious, unviolated and invincible chariots laden with gold heading for higher destinations.
हे भगवन, आपके लिए मधुरतम स्तुति गान और भक्तिपूर्ण कंपन, विजय प्राप्त करते हुए, अजेय रथों के समान, उच्च लोकों की ओर उड़ते हैं।
Chapter 3 · Verse 252
यथा गौरो अपा कृतं तृष्यन्नेत्यवेरिणम्. Åपित्वे नः प्रपित्वे त्ञुयम् आ गहि कण्वेषु सु सचा पिब
Åpitve na¨ prapitve tμuyam å gahi kaƒve¶u su sacå piba. Just as a thirsty stag in the desert rushes to a pool full of water so, O friend in family of the wise, come morning, come evening, come fast and drink the soma of love and reverence in joy.
जैसे प्यासा मृग जल से भरे सरोवर की ओर दौड़ता है, वैसे ही हे ज्ञानियों के प्रिय मित्र, तुम प्रातः और सायंकाल, शीघ्रता से आकर प्रेम और श्रद्धा के सोम का आनंदपूर्वक पान करो।
Chapter 3 · Verse 253
›अग्ध्य्ञुýषु शचीपत इन्द्र विश्वाभिर् ञुतिभिः. भगं न हि त्वा यशसं वसुविदम् अनु श्ञुर चरामसि
Indra, lord of omnipotent action and infinitely various victories, with all powers, protections and inspirations, strengthen and energise us for excellent works without delay. As the very honour, splendour and treasure-home of the universe, O potent and heroic lord, we live in pursuit of your glory to justify our existence and win our destiny.
हे सर्वशक्तिमान इंद्र, हम आपकी महिमा, ऐश्वर्य और धन के स्रोत की खोज में, अपनी शक्तियों, सुरक्षाओं और प्रेरणाओं से युक्त होकर, बिना विलंब के उत्कृष्ट कर्मों के लिए सशक्त और ऊर्जावान बनें। आपके यश का अनुसरण करते हुए हम अपने अस्तित्व को सार्थक करते हैं और अपने भाग्य को प्राप्त करते हैं।
Chapter 3 · Verse 254
या इन्द्र भुज आभरः. स्वर्वाँन् असुरेभ्यः. स्तोतारमिन् मघवन्नस्य वर्धय ये च त्वे वृक्तबर्हिषः
Stotåramin maghavannasya vardhaya ye ca tve væktabarhi¶a¨. Indra, lord of bliss and omnipotence, the food, energy and vitality which you bear and bring from the sources of pranic energy such as sun, air, cloud and cosmic intelligence is great and admirable. O lord of power and glory, pray advance the devotees who appreciate, develop and celebrate this energy and spread the holy grass of yajna in gratitude to you, offer homage to you and develop your gifts.
हे इन्द्र, तुम जो शक्ति और ऐश्वर्य धारण करते हो, वह महान है। हे धनवान प्रभु, उन भक्तों को उन्नत करो जो तुम्हारी स्तुति करते हैं और यज्ञ की पवित्र घास बिछाते हैं।
Chapter 3 · Verse 255
प्र मित्राय प्रार्यम्णे सचथ्यम् ऋतावसो. वर्ञुथ्येýवरुणे छन्द्यं वचः स्तोत्रं राजसु गायत
Varμuthyeývaruƒe chandya≈ vaca¨ stotra≈ råjasu gåyata. O lover of truth and eternal laws and values of cosmic truth, sing together, sing in the home and sing on joyous occasions collective, homely and celebrative songs in honour of Mitra, lord of love and universal friendship, Aryaman, lord of the paths of rectitude, and Varuna, lord of judgement and wisdom. Sing hymns of adoration for all the refulgent divinities.
हे सत्य और सनातन नियमों के प्रेमी, प्रेम और सार्वभौमिक मित्रता के देवता मित्र, सदाचार के मार्गदर्शक आर्यमन, और न्याय तथा प्रज्ञा के स्वामी वरुण की स्तुति में, घर में और उत्सवों में मिलकर भक्तिपूर्ण गीत गाओ। सभी तेजस्वी देवताओं के लिए स्तोत्र गाओ।
Chapter 3 · Verse 256
अभि त्वा प्ञुर्वपीतय इन्द्र स्तोमेभिर् आयवः. समीचीनास ऋभवः समस्वरन् रुद्रा गृणन्त प्ञुर्व्यम्
Sam∂c∂nåsa æbhava¨ samasvaran rudrå gæƒanta pμurvyam. Indra, men in general, learned experts of vision and wisdom, illustrious powers of law and order, and fighting warriors of defence and protection all together, raising a united voice of praise, prayer and appreciation, with songs of holiness and acts of piety, invoke and invite you, ancient, nearest and most excellent lord of power and lustre, to inaugurate their yajnic celebration of the soma session of peaceful and exciting programme of development.
हे इन्द्र देव! समस्त ज्ञानीजन, सामर्थ्यवान योद्धागण और भक्तजन मिलकर, पवित्र स्तुतियों और यज्ञ कर्मों द्वारा, आपकी प्राचीन महिमा का गान करते हुए, आपको अपने यज्ञ में आमंत्रित करते हैं।
Chapter 3 · Verse 257
प्र व इन्द्राय बृहते मरुतो ब्रह्मार्चत. वृत्रं हनति वृत्रहा शतक्रतुर् वज्रेण शतपर्वणा
Vætra≈ hanati vætrahå ‹atakratur vajreƒa ‹ataparvaƒå. O Maruts, vibrant brilliant leaders of humanity, study the divine powers immanent in nature, with hymns of Vedic adoration. He is the destroyer of evil, dispels darkness and ignorance, and destroys the negative uncreative forces with his thunderbolt of hundredfold power.
हे मरुतों, हे प्रकृति के तेजस्वी नेताओं, इन्द्र के लिए स्तुति करो, जो अंधकार और अज्ञान का नाश करने वाले हैं, और अपनी सौ-गुना शक्ति से नकारात्मक शक्तियों का संहार करते हैं।
Chapter 3 · Verse 258
बृहद् इन्द्राय गायत मरुतो वृत्रहन्तमम्. येन ज्योतिरजनयन्न् ऋतावृधो देवं देवाय जागृवि
Yena jyotirajanayann ætåvædho deva≈ devåya jågævi. O Maruts, vibrant leaders of humanity in knowledge and action, sing the resounding songs of Sama which, like the sun, dispel the darkness and eliminate evil, the same by which the sagely servants of eternal law and cosmic yajna in the service of God vitalise, recreate and extend that divine inextinguishable light of life which is ever awake in the world of existence.
हे मरुतो, ज्ञान और कर्म के जीवंत नेताओं, सामवेद के उन गान गाओ जो अंधकार को दूर करते हैं और बुराई का नाश करते हैं, उसी प्रकार जैसे सूर्य करता है। यह वही गान है जिससे ईश्वर की सेवा में लगे ज्ञानी भक्त जीवन के उस दिव्य, कभी न बुझने वाले प्रकाश को पुनः स्थापित करते हैं और बढ़ाते हैं जो अस्तित्व के संसार में सदैव जागृत रहता है।
Chapter 3 · Verse 259
इन्द्र क्रतुं न आ भर पिता पुत्रेभ्यो यथा. ›इक्षा णो अस्मिन् पुरुह्ञुत यामनि जीवा ज्योतिरशीमहि
jyotira‹∂mahi. Bring us the divine vision, will and intelligence as father does for his children. O lord universally present time so that we, ordinary souls, may have the new light of life and living experience of Divinity.
हे इंद्र, पिता जिस प्रकार पुत्रों के लिए ज्ञान और सामर्थ्य लाते हैं, उसी प्रकार हमें भी दिव्य चेतना और प्रज्ञा प्रदान करें।
Chapter 3 · Verse 261
वयम् घ त्वा सुतावन्त आपो न वृक्तबर्हिषः. पवित्रस्य प्रस्रवणेषु वृत्रहन् परि स्तोतार आसते
Pavitrasya prasravaƒe¶u vætrahan pari stotåra åsate. Indra, destroyer of evil, darkness and suffering, we, your celebrants, having distilled the soma, spread and occupied the holy grass, we, sit and wait on the vedi for your presence in the flux of life as holy performers, while the flow of pure immortality continues all round in the dynamics of existence.
हे वृत्रहन् इन्द्र! हम, सोम का रस निकालने वाले, पवित्र वेदी पर बैठे हुए, आपके आगमन की प्रतीक्षा कर रहे हैं, जैसे जीवन के प्रवाह में पवित्रता का प्रवाह चारों ओर बहता है।
Chapter 3 · Verse 262
यद् इन्द्र नाहुषीष्वा ओजो नृम्णम् च कृष्ंइषु. यद्वा प¤च क्षितीनाम् द्युम्नम् आ भर सत्रा विश्वानि पौँन्स्या
Yadvå pa¤ca k¶it∂nåm dyumnam å bhara satrå vi‹våni pau~nsyå. Indra, ruler of the world, whatever the lustre and splendour in humanity across history, whatever the power and wealth among communities, whatever the virtue and quality in the five elements of nature or lands of the earth, or whatever the strength and vigour of the world of existence, you bear and symbolise all that. Pray, O lord, bear and bring us all that.
हे इन्द्र, समस्त लोकों के शासक, मनुष्यों में जो भी तेज और ऐश्वर्य है, समुदायों में जो भी शक्ति और धन है, प्रकृति के पंच तत्वों या पृथ्वी के लोकों में जो भी गुण और सामर्थ्य है, अथवा अस्तित्व के संसार में जो भी बल और ओज है, उन सब का आप ही धारण और प्रतीक हैं। हे प्रभु, कृपा करके हमें भी वह सब प्रदान करें।
Chapter 3 · Verse 263
सत्यमित्था वृषेदसि वृषज्ञुतिर् नोइ᳓विता. वृषा ह्युग्र शृण्विषे परावति वृषोअर्वावति श्रुतः
True it is thus you are our protector, virile and generous yourself and an inspiration and driving force for the virile and the brave, unbound, uncountered, brave and illustrious, harbinger of the showers of peace and joy and known as omnificent and sublime all over the world far and near.
हे सत्यस्वरूप प्रभु, आप ही हमारे रक्षक हैं, पराक्रमी, उदार और प्रेरणादायक हैं। आप सर्वव्यापी, अजेय, वीर और यशस्वी हैं, जो शांति और आनंद की वर्षा के अग्रदूत हैं और सर्वत्र विख्यात हैं।
Chapter 3 · Verse 264
यच्छक्रासि परावति यद् अर्वावति वृत्रहन्. अतस्त्वा गीर्भिर् द्युगद् इन्द्र केशिभिः सुतावाँन् आ विवासति
Atastvå g∂rbhir dyugad indra ke‹ibhi¨ sutåvå~n å vivåsati. O Shakra, lord of mighty holy action, destroyer of evil and darkness, whether you are far off or close by, the man of creative yajna invokes you and draws your attention and presence from there by words of adoration radiating like rays of light across the spaces of skies and heavens of light.
हे शक्तिशाली इन्द्र, जो समस्त बुराई और अंधकार का नाश करते हैं, चाहे आप दूर हों या समीप, यजमान अपनी स्तुतियों से आपको बुलाता है और अपनी ओर आकर्षित करता है।
Chapter 3 · Verse 265
अभि वो वीरम् अन्धसो मदेषु गाय गिरा महा विचेतसम्. इन्द्रं नाम श्रुत्यं शाकिनं वचो यथा
In the ecstasy of your soma celebration, with the best of word and voice, sing in praise of Indra, mighty brave, highly knowledgeable and wise, renowned of name and versatile in power and competence.

इन्द्र त्रिधातु शरणम् त्रिवर्ञुथं स्वस्तये. छर्दिर् यच्छ मघवद्भ्यश्च मह्यं च यावया दिद्युमेभ्यः
Chardir yaccha maghavadbhya‹ca mahya≈ ca yåvayå didyumebhya¨. Indra, lord ruler of the wealth of nations, for the men of wealth, power, honour and generosity of heart, and for me too, give a home made of three metals and materials, comfortable in three seasons of summer, winter and rains, a place of rest, peace and security for complete well being. Give the light for them, keep off the blaze from them.
हे इन्द्र, धनवानों और मुझको भी, सुख-समृद्धि के लिए, तीन धातुओं से निर्मित, तीन ऋतुओं में सुखद, तीन लोकों में निवास योग्य, कल्याणकारी घर प्रदान करें। वे प्रकाश को प्राप्त करें और अंधकार से दूर रहें।
Chapter 3 · Verse 267
›रायन्त इव स्ञुर्यं विश्वेद् इन्द्रस्य भक्षत. वस्ञुनि जातो जनिमान्योजसा प्रति भागं न दीधिमः
Just as the rays of light share and diffuse the radiance of the sun, so you too share and reflect the golden glories of Indra, the cosmic soul. Let us meditate on the divine presence and for our share enjoy the ecstasy of bliss vibrating in the world of past and future creation by virtue of Indra's omnipresent majesty.
हे इन्द्र देव, जैसे सूर्य की किरणें अपनी दीप्ति को फैलाती हैं, वैसे ही आप भी अपनी दिव्य महिमा को साझा करते हैं। हम उस सर्वव्यापी शक्ति का ध्यान करें और अपने हिस्से के रूप में भूत-भविष्य की सृष्टि में व्याप्त आनंद का अनुभव करें।

न सीम् अदेव आप तदिषम् दीर्घायो मर्त्यः. एतग्वा चिद्य एतशो युयोजत इन्द्रो हरी युयोजते
Etagvå cidya eta‹o yuyojata indro har∂ yuyojate. Never can an impious, ungodly mortal find that food and energy in life which that other person can find who yokes those dynamic energies and powers in his search for progress which Indra deploys in his creative and evolutionary programme of existence.
हे मनुष्य, जो ईश्वर से विमुख है, वह जीवन में वह शक्ति और ऊर्जा कभी प्राप्त नहीं कर सकता जो ईश्वर की शक्तियों को अपने विकास के लिए समर्पित करने वाला प्राप्त करता है। इंद्र जिस प्रकार अपनी सृजनात्मक शक्ति से सृष्टि का संचालन करते हैं, उसी प्रकार ईश्वर-भक्त भी जीवन की ऊर्जा को अपने कल्याण हेतु नियोजित करता है।

Å नो विश्वासु हव्यम् इन्द्रं समत्सु भ्ञुषत. उप ब्रह्माणि सवनानि वृत्रहन् परमज्या ऋचीषम
Indra, lord of universal energy, world power and human forces, is worthy of reverence and invocation in all our joint battles of life. May the lord of strongest bow, destroyer of evil and dispeller of darkness and ignorance, great and glorious as sung in the Rks, grace our songs of adoration and faithful efforts with the beauty and glory of success.
हे इन्द्र देव, आप विश्व-ऊर्जा, लोक-शक्ति और मानव-बल के स्वामी हैं, जीवन के सभी सामूहिक संघर्षों में आपकी स्तुति और आवाहन योग्य है। हे महान और तेजस्वी, जो सबसे शक्तिशाली धनुष के स्वामी, बुराई के विनाशक और अंधकार व अज्ञान के निवारक हैं, हमारी भक्तिपूर्ण स्तुतियों और निष्ठावान प्रयासों को अपनी सफलता की सुंदरता और महिमा से सुशोभित करें।

तवेद् इन्द्रावमं वसु त्वं पुष्यसि मध्यमम्. सत्रा विश्वस्य परमस्य राजसि न किष्ंवा गोषु वृण्वते
Indra, you protect, promote and rule over the lower orders of wealth of the world. You promote and rule over the middle order of the world's wealth. And you rule and shine over wealth of the highest order of the world. You are the true and the eternal power. No one can resist you among the lands and lights of the world. Who would not accept you?
हे इन्द्र देव, आप संसार के निम्न, मध्य और उच्चतम धन-ऐश्वर्य के रक्षक, पालक और शासक हैं। आप ही सत्य और परम शक्ति हैं, जिन्हें कोई भी भूमि या प्रकाश में अस्वीकार नहीं कर सकता।
Chapter 3 · Verse 271
क्वेयथ क्वेदसि पुरुत्रा चिद्धि ते मनः. अलर्षि युध्म खजकृत् पुरन्दर प्र गायत्रा अगासिषुः
Alar¶i yudhma khajakæt purandara pra gåyatrå agåsi¶u¨. Where do you move and reach? Where do you reside and abide? No one can say. Your mind and presence is everywhere, universal. O lord of the warlike dynamics of existence, pivot and churner of the universe, breaker of the citadels of darkness and ignorance, come and bless us, the celebrants and singers of Gayatri hymns invoke and adore you.
हे सर्वव्यापी प्रभु, आप कहाँ विचरण करते हैं और कहाँ निवास करते हैं, यह कोई नहीं जान सकता। आपकी चेतना और उपस्थिति सर्वत्र व्याप्त है, हे समस्त ब्रह्मांड के नियंत्रक और रक्षक।

Tasmå u adya savane suta≈ bharå nμuna≈ bhμu¶ata ‹rute. Here today as before we have regaled this lord of the thunderbolt. For him, again, now, all of one mind, bear and bring the distilled soma of homage, and grace the celebrants.
आज हम इस वज्रधारी प्रभु का सत्कार करते हैं। उनके लिए, हम सब मिलकर भक्ति का सोमरस लाते हैं और उत्सव मनाने वालों को अनुग्रहीत करते हैं।

Vi‹våsåm tarutå pætanånå≈ jye¶¢ha≈ yo vætrahå gæƒe. I adore Indra, lord supreme, who rules the people, and who is the irresistible and universal mover by waves of cosmic energy, saviour of all humanity, supreme warrior and winner of cosmic battles of the elemental forces and who destroys the evil, darkness and poverty of the world.
हे इन्द्र देव, आप ही समस्त प्रजा के शासक हैं, जो अपनी शक्ति से समस्त विश्व को संचालित करते हैं, सभी के रक्षक और विजय दिलाने वाले हैं। आप ही समस्त बुराईयों और अंधकार का नाश करने वाले हैं।

यत इन्द्र भयामहे ततो नो अभयम् कृधि. मघव¤छ्ग्धि तव तन्न ञुतये वि द्विषो वि मृधो जहि
Maghava¤chgdhi tava tanna μutaye vi dvi¶o vi mædho jahi. Indra, lord indomitable, whoever, whatever and wherever we fear, make us fearless from that. O lord of might and world power, pray strengthen us with your powers and protections of the highest order. Eliminate the jealous, the malignant, the disdainers and contemners.
हे इन्द्र देव, जहाँ-जहाँ से हमें भय उत्पन्न होता है, वहाँ-वहाँ से हमें निर्भय बनाइए। अपनी शक्ति और श्रेष्ठ सुरक्षा से हमें बल प्रदान करें और द्वेष करने वालों तथा ईर्ष्यालुओं का नाश करें।

वास्तोष्पते ध्रुवा स्थ्ञुणां सत्रं सोम्यानाम्. द्रप्सः पुराम् भेत्ता शश्वतीनाम् इन्द्रो मुनीनां सखा
Drapsa¨ puråm bhettå ‹a‹vat∂nåm indro mun∂nå≈ sakhå. O lord of human habitations, creator of the cosmic home of life, may the centre column of our house be firm. May the lord be the protective armour of the makers of soma. May Indra, lover of soma to the last drop, be destroyer of the strongholds of evil which nevertheless persist through time, and may the lord be friends with the sages.
हे गृहस्वामी, हमारे घर का मध्य स्तंभ दृढ़ हो। सोम के रचयिताओं के लिए प्रभु सुरक्षा कवच बनें। इंद्र, सोम के अंतिम बिंदु तक प्रेमी, बुराई के दुर्गों का विनाशक हों और प्रभु ऋषियों के मित्र हों।

बण्महाँन् असि स्ञुर्य बडादित्य महाँन् असि. महस् ते सतो महिमा पनिष्ंअम मह्ना देव महाँन् असि
Mahas te sato mahimå pani¶¢ama mahnå deva mahå~n asi. O Surya, light of life, you are truly great, lord indestructible, you are undoubtedly great. O lord of reality, highest real, great is your glory, most adorable. In truth, you are great, refulgent and generous.
हे सूर्यदेव, जीवन के प्रकाश, आप महान हैं, अविनाशी प्रभु, आप निश्चय ही महान हैं। हे सत्य के स्वामी, परम सत्य, आपकी महिमा महान है, अत्यंत पूजनीय। वास्तव में, आप महान, तेजस्वी और उदार हैं।

अश्वी रथी सुर्ञुप इद् गोमान् यद् इन्द्र ते सखा. ›वात्रभाजा वयसा सचते सदा चन्द्रैर् याति सभाम् उप
Indra, lord of light and ruling power, your devoted friend ever blest with the powers of life's progress onwards like a chariot hero of war, enjoying grace of person and culture, wealth of knowledge and riches of the earth, has his full share of good health, full age and gifts of existence, and he goes forward to the assembly of people with the graces of full moon among stars.
हे प्रकाशमय इन्द्र, जीवन की प्रगतिशील शक्तियों से युक्त आपका भक्त, युद्ध के वीर की भांति, पूर्ण चन्द्रमा की शोभा के साथ सभा में जाता है। वह स्वास्थ्य, दीर्घायु और ऐश्वर्य का पूर्ण भागीदार होता है।

यद् द्याव इन्द्र ते शतं शतं भ्ञुमीर् उत स्युः. न त्वा वज्रिन्त् सहस्रं स्ञुर्या अनु न जातमष्ंअ रोदसी
Indra, lord of thunder, if there were a hundred heavens, and if there were a hundred earths, they would not be able to rival you. Not a thousand suns, nor heavens, earths and skies together would match you at the rise in manifestation.
हे इन्द्र, यदि स्वर्ग और पृथ्वी सौ-सौ हों, तो भी वे तुम्हारी बराबरी नहीं कर सकते। हे वज्रधारी, सहस्र सूर्य भी, या स्वर्ग, पृथ्वी और दिशाएँ मिलकर भी, तुम्हारी महिमा का मुकाबला नहीं कर सकते।
Chapter 3 · Verse 279
यद् इन्द्र प्राग् अपाग् उदग् न्यग् वा ह्ञुयसे नृभिः. सिमा पुर्ञु नृष्ञुतो अस्यानवेइ᳓सि प्र- शर्ध तुर्वशे
Indra, illustrious lord of the world, ruler and commander of human forces, karmayogi, when you are invoked by people anywhere east or west, north or south, up or down, then, O lord of excellence, you feel highly impelled by those many and come and act as the destroyer of many evils for the people of reverence and exceptional strength.
हे इन्द्र देव, जब पूर्व, पश्चिम, उत्तर, दक्षिण, ऊपर या नीचे से भक्तजन आपको पुकारते हैं, तब आप उन अनेक भक्कों से प्रेरित होकर, उन पर कृपा करते हैं और दुष्टों का नाश कर अपनी शक्ति का प्रदर्शन करते हैं।
Chapter 3 · Verse 280
कस् तम् इन्द्र त्वा वसवा मर्त्यो दधर्षति. ›रद्धा हि ते मघवन् पार्ये दिवि वाजी वाजं सिषासति
si¶åsati. Indra, lord ruler of the world, who can assail that mortal who wholly lives under the shade and shelter of your protection? O lord of the wealth and power of existence, whoever reposes his faith and dynamism in you as the sole saviour and pilot while he is in action receives his share of victory in the light of divinity.
हे इन्द्र, जो मनुष्य पूर्ण रूप से आपकी शरण में रहता है, उसे कौन सा नश्वर प्राणी पराजित कर सकता है? हे ऐश्वर्य के स्वामी, जो कर्म करते हुए भी पूर्ण विश्वास के साथ आपकी शरण लेता है, वह निश्चित रूप से विजय प्राप्त करता है।

इन्द्राग्नी अपाद् इयम् प्ञुर्वागात् पद्वतीभ्यः. हित्वा शिरो जिह्वया रारपच् चरत् त्रि¤शत् पदा न्यक्रमीत्
Hitvå ‹iro jihvayå rårapac carat tri¤‹at padå nyakram∂t. Lightning and fire divine, this light of the dawn, shaking up its locks of hair and proclaiming its rise with its flames, radiates before life on the earth is on wheels, and moves on thirty steps of time and space.
हे इन्द्र और अग्नि देव, यह प्रभात की किरणें, अपने प्रकाश से चराचर जगत को कंपित करती हुई, जीवन के आरम्भ से पूर्व ही, समय और स्थान के तीस चरणों में प्रकाशित हो रही हैं।
Chapter 3 · Verse 282
इन्द्र नेदीय एदिहि मितमेधाभिर् ञुतिभिः. Å शन्तम शन्तमाभिर् अभिष्ंइभिर् आ स्वापे स्वापिभिः
Å ‹antama ‹antamåbhir abhi¶¢ibhir å svåpe svåpibhi¨. Indra, closest power divine, come at the earliest with sure protections of definite resolution of mind. Lord of supreme peace, come with most peaceful fulfilment of desire, come, dear friend, with most friendly powers of protection and progress.
हे इन्द्र देव, अपनी निश्चित बुद्धि और सामर्थ्य से शीघ्र पधारें, हे परम शांति के स्वामी, अपनी शांतिपूर्ण इच्छाओं की पूर्ति के साथ आएं, हे प्रिय मित्र, अपनी मित्रतापूर्ण रक्षा और प्रगति की शक्तियों के साथ पधारें।

इत ञुती वो अजरं प्रहेतारम् अप्रहितम्. Åशुं जेतारं हेतारं रथीतमम् अत्ञुर्तं तुग्रियावृधम्
Å‹u≈ jetåra≈ hetåra≈ rath∂tamam atμurta≈ tugriyåvædham. O men and women of the earth, for your protection and progress follow Indra, unaging, all inspirer and mover, himself unmoved and self-inspired, most dynamic, highest victor, thunderer, master of the chariot of life, inviolable augmenter of strength to victory.
हे मनुष्यों, अपनी रक्षा और उन्नति के लिए, उस अविनाशी, सर्वप्रेरक, स्वयं अप्रभावित, परम विजयी, गर्जनशील, जीवन रथ के स्वामी, बलवर्धक इंद्र का अनुसरण करो।

मो षु त्वा वाघतश्च नारे अस्मन्नि रीरमन्. Åरात्ताद्वा सधमादं न आ गहीह वा सन्नुप श्रुधि
Åråttådvå sadhamåda≈ na å gah∂ha vå sannupa ‹rudhi. nor let them detain you. Come to our house of celebration from the farthest distance even, and when you are here, listen to our songs of celebration and divine adoration.
हे भगवन, आप दूर से भी हमारे उत्सव के घर में पधारें और हमारे भक्तिपूर्ण गीतों को सुनें। हमें अपने आनंदमय संग में लीन कर लें।
Chapter 3 · Verse 285
सुनोत सोमपाव्ने सोमम् इन्द्राय वज्रिणे. पचता पक्तीर् अवसे कृणुध्वमित् पृणन्नित् पृणते मयः
Pacatå pakt∂r avase kæƒudhvamit pæƒannit pæƒate maya¨. Extract, mature and prepare the nectar of life for the lord, Indra, wielder of the thunderbolt of justice and punishment and destroyer of evil, who loves the soma spirit of life's beauty and joy. Ripen and perfect the drinks and drugs for health care and protection of life, and create the state of comfort and well being, giving success and fulfilment for those who work for the joy and fulfilment of all in general.
हे सोमपान करने वाले, न्याय और दंड के वज्रधारी, इंद्र के लिए जीवन के अमृत को परिपक्व करो। उनके आनंद और कल्याण के लिए, जो सभी के सुख के लिए कार्य करते हैं, उन औषधियों को सिद्ध करो जो स्वास्थ्य और सुरक्षा प्रदान करती हैं।

We invoke and adore Indra, lord of glory, constant watcher of humanity and human actions, and pray: O lord protector of truth, commanding infinite passion vitality and flames of fiery forces, master of universal wealth, be with us for our advancement in the struggles of life.
हे सत्य के रक्षक, अनंत शक्ति और तेज के स्वामी, इंद्र देव, हम आपकी स्तुति करते हैं; युद्धों में हमें विजय प्रदान करें।
Chapter 3 · Verse 287
सचीभिर् नः शचीवस्ञु दिवानक्तं दिशस्यतम्. मा वां रातिर् उपदसत् कदा च नास्मद् रातिः कदाचन
Må vå≈ råtir upadasat kadå ca nåsmad råti¨ Kadåcana. Ashvins, lords of noble action and givers of wealth by noble action, for the noble actions of ours, bless us with the gifts of wealth day and night. We pray, may your generosity never wear away from us. May our charity too never forsake us.
हे अश्विनीकुमारों, जो उत्तम कर्मों के स्वामी और धन के दाता हैं, हमारे उत्तम कर्मों के लिए दिन-रात धन का दान करें। आपकी उदारता कभी समाप्त न हो और हमारा दान भी कभी हमसे दूर न हो।

यदा कदा च मीढुषे स्तोता जरेत मर्त्यः. Åदिद् वन्देत वरुणम् विपा गिरा धर्त्तारं विव्रतानाम्
Ådid vandeta varuƒam vipå girå dharttåra≈ vivratånåm. Whenever a mortal celebrant would appreciate, praise or exhalt the rich, generous and the magnanimous, let him with free and vibrant voice appreciate, exhalt of the people and powers of discipline, resolution and graciousness of generosity.
जब भी कोई नश्वर मनुष्य, उदार और महान लोगों की प्रशंसा या स्तुति करे, तो उसे अपनी मुक्त और जीवंत वाणी से, अनुशासन, संकल्प और उदारता की कृपा के लोगों और शक्तियों की प्रशंसा करनी चाहिए।
Chapter 3 · Verse 289
पहि गा अन्धसो मद इन्द्राय मेध्यातिथे. यः सम्मिश्लो हर्योर्यो हिरण्यय इन्द्रो वज्री हिरण्ययः
Ya¨ sammi‹lo haryoryo hiraƒyaya indro vajr∂ hiraƒyaya¨. O man, you are a visitor and respectable guest on this earth of a golden order of beauty, prosperity and culture. Observe the rules of this order, advance the beauty and prosperity of it, and in the pleasure and ecstasy of its plenty of soma hospitality, sing and celebrate the glory of Indra, lord ruler of vision and action united, commander of the nation's forces, dynamic and creative, friendly and cooperative, wielder of the thunderbolt of justice and retribution, burden bearer and pilot of the golden chariot of humanity.
हे मनुष्य, तुम इस स्वर्णिम व्यवस्था के आदरणीय अतिथि हो, इसकी सुंदरता और समृद्धि को बढ़ाओ, और सोम-आतिथ्य के आनंद में, दृष्टि और कर्म के संयुक्त शासक, न्याय के वज्रधारी, इंद्र की महिमा का गान करो।
Chapter 3 · Verse 290
उभयं शृणवच् च न इन्द्रो अर्वाग् इदं वचः. सत्राच्या मघवान्त् सोमपीतये धिया शविष्ंह आ गमत्
May Indra, lord omnipotent, master of the world's wealth and power, directly listen to our joint prayer for worldly and spiritual advancement with attentive ear and sympathetic understanding, and may the lord of supreme power come to protect and promote our yajnic programme and prayer and taste the pleasure of success.
हे सर्वशक्तिमान इंद्र देव, जो विश्व के धन और शक्ति के स्वामी हैं, हमारी संयुक्त प्रार्थना को ध्यानपूर्वक सुनें और आध्यात्मिक उन्नति प्रदान करें। हे महाबली, हमारे यज्ञ और प्रार्थना को सफल बनाएं और सफलता का आनंद लें।

Na sahasråya nåyutåya vajrivo na ‹atåya ‹atåmagha. O lord of infinite wealth, power and majesty, wielder of the thunderbolt of justice and punishment, breaker of the clouds and mountains, bless me that I may never give up my devotion to you for the greatest material return, not for a thousand, not for a million, not even for the boundless wealth of the world.
हे वज्रधारी, असीम धन, शक्ति और ऐश्वर्य के स्वामी, न्याय और दंड के वज्र को धारण करने वाले, मेघों और पर्वतों को भेदने वाले प्रभु, मैं आपसे प्रार्थना करता हूँ कि मैं कभी भी आपकी भक्ति को सबसे बड़े भौतिक लाभ के लिए न छोड़ूँ, न तो हजार के लिए, न ही दस लाख के लिए, और न ही संसार के असीम धन के लिए।
Chapter 3 · Verse 292
वस्याँन् इन्द्रासि मे पितुरुत भ्रातुर् अभु¤जतः. माता च मे छदयथः समा वसो वसुत्- वनाय राधसेइ᳓
You command greater wealth, power and prestigious settlement for me than my father, you are closer to me than my indifferent brother. Only my mother and you are equal to provide me solace and protection, O shelter of the universe, for my wealth and celebrity in success (my mother as individual mother and you as universal mother).
हे ब्रह्मांड के आश्रयदाता! आप मेरे पिता से भी अधिक ऐश्वर्य, शक्ति और प्रतिष्ठा प्रदान करते हैं, और उदासीन भाई से भी अधिक मेरे निकट हैं। मेरी माता और आप ही मुझे सुख और सुरक्षा प्रदान करने में समान हैं, जिससे मैं सफलता में धन और कीर्ति प्राप्त कर सकूँ।

इम इन्द्राय सुन्विरे सोमासो दध्याशिरः. ताँन् आ मदाय वज्रहस्त पीतये हरिभ्यां याह्योक आ
Tå~n å madåya vajrahasta p∂taye haribhyå≈ yåhyoka å. These somas of the nation's honour and excellence energised by the ferment of inspiration and enthusiasm have been distilled to celebrate the dignity and majesty of the land and the ruler Indra. O lord wielder of the thunderbolt, come to our hall of fame for the joy of a drink of them. Come fast by the chariot drawn by horses of the winds.
हे वज्रहस्त इंद्र देव! राष्ट्र के गौरव और उत्कृष्टता के लिए तैयार किए गए ये सोम रस, प्रेरणा और उत्साह से परिपूर्ण होकर, भूमि और शासक की गरिमा का उत्सव मनाने हेतु लाए गए हैं। हे प्रभु, अश्वों द्वारा खींचे गए रथ पर सवार होकर, आनंद के लिए शीघ्रता से हमारे यज्ञशाला में पधारें।

इम इन्द्र मदाय ते सोमाश्चिकित्र उक्थिनः. मधोः पपान उप नो गिरः शृणु रास्व स्तोत्राय गिर्वणः
Madho¨ papåna upa no gira¨ ‹æƒu råsva stotråya girvaƒa¨. Indra, adorable lord of knowledge, these some sanatives of the celebrant are for your joyous appreciation and acceptance. Å त्वाýइ᳓द्य सबर्दुघाम् हुवे गायत्रवे- पसम्. इन्द्रम् धेनुँम् सुदुघाम् अन्याम् इषम् उरुधाराम् अरΔकृतम्
Today I invoke Indra, I invoke the motherly spirit of the universe, giver of total fulfilment of the heart's desire, pleased and stirred by the chant of Gayatri songs of adoration, omnipotent and omnificent, generous as Mother Nature, giver of ample gifts beyond the earth and the earthly cow, harbinger of showers of the cherished nectar milk of life, all blissful and gracious.
हे इन्द्र देव! आज मैं आपकी स्तुति करता हूँ, जो गायत्री के मधुर गान से प्रसन्न होकर समस्त इच्छाओं को पूर्ण करने वाली, सर्वव्यापी, सर्वशक्तिमान और पृथ्वी तथा गौओं से भी अधिक उदारतापूर्वक अमृतमय दुग्ध की वर्षा करने वाली हैं।

न त्वा बृहन्तो अद्रयो वरन्त इन्द्र वीडवः. यच्छिक्षसि स्तुवते मावते वसु न किष्ंअदा मिनाति ते
Yacchik¶asi stuvate måvate vasu na ki¶¢adå minåti te. Not the mighty fixed mountains can restrain you, Indra, generous lord, when you come to give wealth to a celebrant like me. No one can stop and frustrate your will.
हे इन्द्र, उदार स्वामी, जब आप मेरी स्तुति करने वाले को धन देने आते हैं, तो शक्तिशाली पर्वत भी आपको रोक नहीं सकते। आपकी इच्छा को कोई भी बाधित या विफल नहीं कर सकता।
Chapter 3 · Verse 297
क ईं वेद सुते सचा पिबन्तं कद्वयो दधे. अयं यः पुरो विभिनत्त्योजसा मन्दानः शिप्र्यन्धसः
Aya≈ ya¨ puro vibhinattyojaså mandåna¨ ‹ipryandhasa¨. Who would for certain know Indra in this created world of beauty and glory, how much power and force he wields while he rules and sustains it, Indra who wears the helmet and breaks down the strongholds of negativities with his lustrous might, the lord who shares and enjoys the soma of his own creation?
हे इंद्र देव! आप अपनी महिमा और शक्ति से इस सुंदर जगत का पालन करते हैं, अपनी दीप्ति से शत्रुओं का नाश करते हैं और अपने ही बनाए हुए सोम रस का आनंद लेते हैं। कौन है जो इस संसार में आपकी इस अद्भुत शक्ति और सामर्थ्य को पूर्ण रूप से जान सकता है?

यद् इन्द्र शासो अव्रतं च्यावया सदसस्परि. अस्माकम् अΔशुम् मघवन् पुरुस्पृहं वसव्ये अधि बर्हय
Asmåkam aΔ‹um maghavan puruspæha≈ vasavye adhi barhaya. Indra, ruler of the commonwealth, as you are ruler of the law and keeper of the discipline of creativity and yajnic production, pray remove from the house of yajna the person who cannot observe the discipline and does not keep the pace of creativity and contribution. O lord of power and wealth, advance and on top promote our soma sanative of universal value and interest for the peace, progress and affluence of the nation.
हे इन्द्र, जो यज्ञ की व्यवस्था और रचनात्मकता के अनुशासन का पालन नहीं करता, उसे यज्ञशाला से दूर करो। हे धन और शक्ति के स्वामी, राष्ट्र की शांति, प्रगति और समृद्धि के लिए हमारे सोम रस को उन्नत करो।

त्वष्ंआ नो दैव्यम् वचः पर्जन्यो ब्रह्म- णस्पतिः. पुत्रैर् भ्रातृभिर् अदितिर् नु पातु नो दुष्ंअरं त्रामाणं वचः
du¶¢ara≈ tråmåƒa≈ vaca¨. May Tvashta, divine spirit of natural evolution of forms and institutions, our divine Word, Parjanaya, soma showers of vitality, Brahmanaspati, sun and divine cosmic protection and inviolable mother Infinity alongwith our brothers and our progeny protect and justify our saviour and inviolable word of promise and resolution for the safety and security of life and the environment.

कदाचन स्तरीरसि नेन्द्र सश्चसि दाशुषे. उपोपेन्नु मघवन् भ्ञुय इन् नु ते दानं देवस्य पृच्यते
Upopennu maghavan bhμuya in nu te dåna≈ devasya pæcyate. Never are you unfruitful, never uncharitable, you are always with the giver, closer and closer, more and more, again and again, O lord of wealth and honour, and the charity of divinity ever grows higher and promotes the giver.
हे धन और ऐश्वर्य के स्वामी इंद्र! आप कभी भी निष्फल या अनुदार नहीं होते, आप सदा दाता के साथ रहते हैं और देवत्व का दान निरंतर बढ़ता रहता है।

युΔक्ष्वा हि वृत्रहन्तम हरी इन्द्र परावतः. अर्वाचीनो मघवन्त् सोमपीतय उग्र ऋष्वेभिर् आ गहि
Arvåc∂no maghavant somap∂taya ugra æ¶vebhir å gahi. O greatest destroyer of darkness, Indra, omnipotent lord of glory and majesty, blazing ruler and controller of the world, take to the chariot, harness the fastest vital forces of radiance and come from the farthest to us right here and now, with brilliant and indefatigable powers of light, wisdom and bravery, to join us in the soma celebrations of our yajnic victory.
हे वृत्रहन्ता, हे इन्द्र, हे सोमपाता, हे उग्र, अपने तेजस्वी अश्वों को रथ में जोतो और दूर से शीघ्रता से यहाँ आओ।
Chapter 3 · Verse 302
त्वाम् इदा ह्यो नरोइ᳓पीप्यन् वज्रिन् भ्ञुर्णयः. स इन्द्र स्तोमवाहस इह श्रुध्युप स्वसरम् आ गहि
Sa indra stomavåhasa iha ‹rudhyupa svasaram å gahi. Indra, lord of mind and soul, wielder of adamantine will and energy, zealous celebrants and leading lights serve and adore you today as ever before in the past. Thus adored and contemplated, listen to the prayers of the devotees in meditation, come and arise in your own abode of the sage's heart.
हे वज्रधारी इन्द्र, मन और आत्मा के स्वामी, आज भक्तजन आपकी स्तुति करते हुए आपकी आराधना कर रहे हैं। हे देव, ध्यान में लीन भक्तों की पुकार सुनें और अपने धाम में पधारें।

प्रत्यु अदर्श्यायत्य्ञुच्छन्ती दुहिता दिवः. अपो मही वृणुते चक्षुषा तमो ज्योतिष्कृणोति स्ञुनरी
The great and glorious dawn, child of the light of divinity, is seen rising, dispelling mists and darkness, and illuminates with light the world of our actions, brilliant guide as she is for the day.
दिव्य प्रकाश की पुत्री, महान और तेजस्वी उषा, अंधकार को दूर करती हुई उदित हो रही है, और अपने प्रकाश से कर्मलोक को प्रकाशित कर रही है, जो दिन के लिए एक तेजस्वी मार्गदर्शक है।

इमा उ वाम् दिविष्ंअय उस्रा हवन्ते अश्विना. अयं वामह्वेइ᳓वसे शचीवस्ञु विशं विशं हि गच्छथः
Brilliant Ashvins, these yajakas dedicated to life divine invoke and call upon you for light, and I too, O versatile commanders of the wealth of knowledge, power and vision, invite you and pray for protection and advancement since you visit and bless every individual and every community.

Ghnatå våma‹nayå k¶apamåƒoí‹unetthamu ådvanyathå. O divine Ashwins, sun and moon, who on earth is the mortal that can give the refulgence you have? None. And would you abandon the man living on earth, extracting soma and regaling you with the nectar radiating from sun, beaten by thunder, and showered by clouds on earth this way or otherwise?
हे दिव्य अश्विनीकुमारों, सूर्य और चंद्रमा, पृथ्वी पर ऐसा कौन नश्वर है जो आपकी दीप्ति के समान प्रकाश दे सके? कोई नहीं। और क्या आप ऐसे मनुष्य को त्याग देंगे जो पृथ्वी पर सोम का रस निकालकर आपको अमृत से प्रसन्न कर रहा है, चाहे वह किसी भी प्रकार से हो?
Chapter 3 · Verse 306
अयं वां मधुमत्तमः सुतः सोमो दिविष्ंइषु. तमश्विना पिबतं तिरोअह्न्यं धत्तं रत्नानि दाशुषे
Ashvins, brilliant powers like the sun and moon, promoters of light and truth, science and industry, this is the sweetest soma distilled for you in morning yajnas so far till yesterday. Taste it and enjoy it and bring the jewels for the generous man of yajnic charity.
हे अश्विनीकुमारों, जो सूर्य और चंद्रमा के समान तेजस्वी हैं, यह मधुर सोम रस आपके लिए यज्ञ में तैयार है। इसका पान करें और यज्ञ करने वाले उदार व्यक्ति के लिए रत्न प्रदान करें।
Chapter 3 · Verse 307
Å त्वा सोमस्य गल्दया सदा याचन्नहं ज्या. भुर्णिं मृगं न सवनेषु चुक्रुधं क ईशानं न याचिषत्
Bhurƒi≈ mæga≈ na savane¶u cukrudha≈ ka ∂‹åna≈ na yåci¶at. O lord, always beseeching you for one thing or another with my words of prayer as with each drop of soma offered to you, I pray, I may not provoke you to anger in yajna, you who are infinite giver and sole ruler of the universe like a lion of the forest. Listen, O lord, who doesn't ask of the ruler and the munificent?
हे प्रभु, जैसे सोम की प्रत्येक बूंद अर्पण करते हुए मैं आपसे याचना करता हूँ, वैसे ही अपनी प्रार्थनाओं से भी मैं निरंतर आपसे कुछ न कुछ मांगता रहता हूँ। हे अनंत दाता और विश्व के शासक, मैं प्रार्थना करता हूँ कि यज्ञ में मैं आपको क्रोधित न करूँ।

अध्वर्यो द्रावया त्वं सोमम् इन्द्रः पिपासति. उपो न्ञुनं युयुजे वृषणा हरी आ च जगाम वृत्रहा
Hasten, O master of ceremonies, let the soma be prepared and flow forth for service. Indra is thirsty, he has harnessed his mighty chariot forces, indeed the thunderous breaker of clouds has arrived.
हे अध्वर्यु, शीघ्रता करो, इन्द्र सोम पीने के प्यासे हैं। उन्होंने अपने शक्तिशाली रथ को जोड़ा है, निश्चय ही मेघों को तोड़ने वाले वीर आ गए हैं।
Chapter 3 · Verse 309
अभीषतस्तदा भरेन्द्र ज्यायः कनीयसः. पुर्ञुवसुर्हि मघवन् बभ्ञुविथ भरेभरे च हव्यः
Purμuvasurhi maghavan babhμuvitha bharebhare ca havya¨. Indra, lord of honour, power and excellence, you are the eternal lord of universal wealth and shelter home challenging situations. Pray bring us the knowledge and experience of that essence of ultimate reality which is smaller than the smallest and greater than the greatest.
हे इन्द्र, आप ऐश्वर्य, शक्ति और श्रेष्ठता के स्वामी हैं, सार्वभौमिक धन और आश्रय के शाश्वत प्रभु हैं। कृपया हमें उस परम सत्य के सार का ज्ञान और अनुभव प्रदान करें जो सूक्ष्म से भी सूक्ष्म और महान से भी महान है।
Chapter 3 · Verse 310
यदिन्द्र यावतस् त्वम् एतावद् अहम् ईशीय. स्तोतारम् इद्दधिषे रदावसो न पापत्वाय रंसिषम्
Stotåram iddadhi¶e radåvaso na påpatvåya ra≈si¶am. Indra, lord ruler of the world, giver of wealth and excellence, as much as you grant, so much I wish I should control and rule. I would hold it only to support the devotees of divinity and would not spend it away for those who indulge in sin and evil.
हे इन्द्र, हे धन और ऐश्वर्य के दाता! जितना आप प्रदान करते हैं, उतना ही मैं भी नियंत्रित और शासित करना चाहता हूँ। मैं इसे केवल भक्तों के कल्याण के लिए धारण करूँगा, पापियों के लिए व्यय नहीं करूँगा।
Chapter 3 · Verse 311
त्वमिन्द्र प्रत्ञुर्तिष्वभि विश्वा असि स्पृधः. अशस्तिहा जनिता वृत्रत्ञुरसि त्वं तुर्य तरुष्यतः
A‹astihå janitå vætratμurasi tva≈ turya taru¶yata¨. Indra, O inspired soul, in the external conflicts of life and in the internal conflicts of mind, you are the superior over all assailants. You are the destroyer of evil and calumny, creator of goodness and eliminator of impediments. Pray drive off all evil thoughts and oppositions of life and mind.
हे इन्द्र, आप बाह्य एवं आंतरिक संघर्षों में सर्वोपरि हैं, बुराई और निंदा के विनाशक तथा शुभता के निर्माता हैं। हे प्रेरित आत्मा, सभी बाधाओं को दूर कर जीवन और मन के सभी दुर्विचारों तथा विरोधों को भगा दीजिए।
Chapter 3 · Verse 312
प्र यो रिरिक्ष ओजसा दिवः सदोभ्यस्परि. न त्वा विव्याच रज इन्द्र पार्थिवमति विश्वं ववक्षिथ
Na två vivyåca raja indra pårthivamati vi‹va≈ vavak¶itha. You transcend the bounds of heaven by your might. The regions of earth and skies encompass you not. Indra, lord of majesty and omnipotence, bring us food, strength and the divine power of sustenance for life.
हे इन्द्र, अपनी शक्ति से आप स्वर्ग की सीमाओं को भी पार कर जाते हैं, पृथ्वी और आकाश के क्षेत्र आपको घेर नहीं पाते। हे ऐश्वर्यवान प्रभु, हमें जीवन के लिए अन्न, बल और दिव्य पोषण शक्ति प्रदान करें।
Chapter 3 · Verse 313
असावि देवं गोऋजीकमन्धो न्यस्मिनिन्द्रो जनुषेमुवोच. बोधामसि त्वा हर्यश्व. यज्¤ऐर्बोधा न स्तोमम् अन्धसो मदेषु
Distilled is the spirit of life, divine, brilliant, the very essence of earth and nature's energy. Let Indra, the ruling lord of life, by his very nature and origin, join and address the assembly and make it resound. O lord of instant powers and faculties, we invoke and invite you by our yajnic adorations. Join us in the ecstasy of our celebration and inspire our congregation to awake into enlightenment.
हे देव, जीवन का सार, पृथ्वी और प्रकृति की ऊर्जा का दिव्य सार आसुत किया गया है। जीवन के शासक इंद्र, अपनी प्रकृति और उत्पत्ति से, सभा में सम्मिलित हों और उसे गुंजायमान करें। हे त्वरित शक्तियों के स्वामी, हम अपनी यज्ञीय आराधनाओं से आपको आमंत्रित करते हैं, हमारे उत्सव के आनंद में सम्मिलित हों और हमें प्रबोधन की ओर जागृत करें।

योनिष्ंअ इन्द्र सदने अकारि तमा नृभिः पुरुह्ञुत प्र याहि. असो यथा नोइ᳓विता वृधश्चिद्ददो वस्ञुनि ममदश्च सोमैः
Indra, lord ruler and commander of the world, the holy seat for you is created and reserved in the house of nations. Elected and invited by all equally, pray come and take it with the leading lights of humanity in the manner that you may be our saviour and protector for advancement, receive and disburse the means and materials of life's wealth and comfort, and be happy and celebrate the joy of life with the soma of the world's excellence.
हे इन्द्र, राष्ट्रों के भवन में आपके लिए पवित्र आसन निर्मित है, हे बहु-आहूत! आप प्रमुख प्रकाशमानों के साथ पधारें, जैसे आप हमारे उद्धारक और रक्षक बनकर हमें उन्नति प्रदान करें, जीवन की संपत्ति और सुख-सुविधाएँ वितरित करें, और विश्व की उत्कृष्टता के सोम का आनंद मनाएँ।

अदर्दरुत् समसृजो वि खानि त्वम् अर्णवान् बद्बधाना`म् अरम्णाः. महान्तमिन्द्र पर्वतं वि यद्वः सृजद्धारा अव यद्दा- नवान् हन्
Indra, maker and breaker of things, you break open the springs, open the doors, let the streams aflow, and free the bonded to live free and enjoy, you who break the cloud and the mountain, let out the streams to flow into rivers and the sea, having destroyed the demons and broken the cloud.
हे इन्द्र, जो सब कुछ रचते और बिगाड़ते हैं, आप जलधाराओं को खोलते हैं, पर्वतों को भेदते हैं, और बंधनों से मुक्त करके जीवन को आनंदित करते हैं। आप मेघों को चीरकर, जल को नदियों और सागर में प्रवाहित करते हैं।

Indra, lord of abundant wealth and power, creative and expressive devotees with divine gifts of heavenly food and energy, we celebrate and adore you. Pray bless us with that wealth and well being which you please is for our good, so that, under your gracious protection, we may win the power and prosperity of life to live well and enjoy the beauty and goodness of life to the fulfilment of our heart and soul.

जगृह्मा ते दक्षिणम् इन्द्र हस्तं वस्ञुयवो वसुपते वस्ञुनाम्. विद्मा हि त्वा गोपतिं शुर गोनामस्मभ्यं चित्रं वृषणं रयिं दाह्
Indra, lord ruler, controller, promoter and giver of the world's wealth, peace, comfort and joy, we, seekers of wealth, honours and excellence, hold on to your liberal hand of generosity. Lord of omnipotence, we know that you are the ruler and controller of the earths, stars, knowledge, wisdom and culture of life. Pray bless us with profuse and wondrous source wealth of the world with honours, excellence and happiness.

इन्द्रं नरो नेमधिता हवन्ते यत्पार्या युनजते धियस्ताः. ›ञुरो नृषाता श्रवसश्च काम आ गोमति व्रजे भजा त्वम्
Leading people call upon Indra, lord ruler of the world, in their serious struggles of life and pray for those concentrative faculties of mind and intelligence by which they can join the divine presence and win their goal. The lord is the brave, generous and fearless leader of humanity in their corporate life, lover of strength and inspirer of heroic souls. O lord, give us the grace of your divine presence and lead us in our development of lands and cows and in our plans of education, enlightenment and our vision of the divine Word.

वयः सुपर्णा उप सेदुरिन्द्रं प्रिय-मेधा ऋषयो नाधमानाः. अप ध्वान्त-म्ञुर्णुहि प्ञुर्धि चक्षुर्मुमुग्ध्या स्मान्-निधयेव बद्धान्
Men of vibrant intelligence and flying imagination, seers and sages with love and reason, in a mood of supplication, prayer and faith sit and abide by Indra. O lord, unveil the truth from darkness, perfect our vision for the light of truth, release us for we are bound like birds in snares.
हे इंद्र, हे प्रिय मेधा वाले ऋषियों! हम भक्ति और प्रार्थना के भाव से आपके समीप बैठे हैं। हे प्रभु, अंधकार को दूर कर सत्य का प्रकाश प्रकट करें, हमें सत्य के दर्शन के लिए परिपूर्ण करें और बंधनों से मुक्त करें, जैसे फंदे में फंसे पक्षियों को मुक्त किया जाता है।

नाके सुपर्णमुप यत् पतन्तं हृदा वेनन्तो अभ्यचक्षत त्वा. हिरण्यपक्षं वरुणस्य द्ञुतं यमस्य योनौ शकुनं भुरण्युम्
O Sun, wrapped in wondrous rays flying around in the highest heaven, loving sages with their heart and soul see and realise you at the closest as a messenger of the supreme lord of love and justice and as a mighty bird blazing and flying with golden wings in the vast space of the lord ordainer of the universe.
हे सूर्यदेव, आप अपने अद्भुत प्रकाश से जग को प्रकाशित करते हुए, प्रेम और न्याय के परमेश्वर के दूत के रूप में, स्वर्णिम पंखों वाले तेजस्वी पक्षी की भांति ब्रह्मांड के विशाल आकाश में विचरण करते हैं, जिन्हें ज्ञानीजन हृदय से अनुभव करते हैं।

अप्ञुर्व्या पुरुतमान्यस्मै महे वीराय तवसे तुराय. विरप्शिने वज्रिणे शन्तमानि वचाΔ- स्यस्मै स्थविराय तक्षुः

The dark passion of pride with its ten thousand assistants and associates comes, occupies the affections and suppresses the emotive and creative streams of life, but Indra, noble leader of men, the soul, with its great thought and action, takes this bully over, controls its violence and covers it with sweetness and love.

वृत्रस्य त्वा श्वसथादीषमाणा विश्वे देवा अजहुर्ये सखायः. मरुद्भिरिन्द्र सख्यं ते अस्त्वथेमा विश्वाः पृतना जयासि
O soul of man, when at the frightful breath of evil forces of thought and the external world all your noble faculties who are your friends forsake you out of fear and insecurity, at that time, Indra, O soul, of innate power and self-confidence, hold on, be friends with the Maruts, vital pranic powers, and surely you would win in all the battles against evil.
हे आत्मन्, जब भयभीत करने वाली आसुरी शक्तियों के श्वास से तुम्हारे सभी मित्रगण तुम्हें त्याग देते हैं, तब हे आत्मन्, तुम अपने अंतर्निहित बल और आत्मविश्वास से मरुतों (प्राण-शक्तियों) के साथ मित्रता करो, और निश्चित रूप से तुम सभी युद्धों में विजय प्राप्त करोगे।

विधुं दद्राणं समने बह्ञुनां युवानं सन्तं पलितो जगार. देवस्य पश्य काव्यं महित्वाद्या ममार स ह्यः समान
Old age consumes even the youthful man of versatile action whom many fear to face in battle and flee. Look at the inscrutable power of the lord divine by whose inevitable law of mutability the man who was living yesterday is dead today, and the one that dies today would be living to tomorrow.
यह सामवेद का मंत्र जीवन की नश्वरता और ईश्वर की असीम शक्ति का वर्णन करता है। यह बताता है कि कैसे समय और मृत्यु सभी को, यहाँ तक कि शक्तिशाली और युवा को भी अपने वश में कर लेते हैं, और यह सब उस दिव्य शक्ति के विधान के अनुसार होता है।

Thus does Indra become a victorious enemy for the seven unrivalled unholy tendencies of sense and mind and emerges a brilliant unrivalled hero. Thus does he find the real joyous heaven and earth otherwise, for him, covered in deep darkness. Thus do you, O soul, bear and bring happiness to the regions of life vested in dignity and excellence.
हे इन्द्र! आप सात शत्रुताओं पर विजय प्राप्त करते हुए, उन पर हावी हो जाते हैं। आप ही उन गहन अंधकार से ढके हुए लोकों में प्रकाश और आनंद पाते हैं, और हे आत्मा! आप भी उन उत्कृष्ट लोकों में सुख धारण करें।

मेडिं न त्वा वज्रिणं भृष्ंइमन्तं पुरुधस्मानं वृषभं स्थिरप्स्नुम्. करोष्यर्यस् तरुषीर् दुवस्युर् इन्द्र द्युक्षं वृत्रहणं गृणीषे
Karo¶yaryas taru¶∂r duvasyur indra dyuk¶a≈ vætrahaƒa≈ gæƒ∂¶e. I, seeker and celebrant, adore you, Indra, like a friend, like a divine Voice, wielder of thunder, fire armed, destroyer of multitudes, virile and generous, stable beyond disturbance, heaven high, and breaker of the clouds. You are the master, you reduce the enemy to dust.
हे वज्रधारी, बहुधा अन्न प्रदान करने वाले, बलवान, स्थिर पराक्रम वाले इंद्र देव, मैं आपकी स्तुति करता हूँ। आप मेघों को भेदने वाले, शत्रुओं का नाश करने वाले और महान हैं।

प्र वो महे महेवृधे भरध्वं प्र- चेतसे प्र सुमतिम् कृणुध्वम्. विशः प्ञुर्वीः प्र चर चर्षणिप्राः
Bear and bring homage, assistance and cooperation and offer positive thoughts and advice to Indra, your leader and ruler. Great is he, promoter of great people and the common wealth, and a leader wide- awake with deep and distant foresight. O leader and ruler of the land, be good to the settled ancient people and take care of the farming communities and other professionals so that all feel happy and fulfilled without frustration.
हे इन्द्र देव! आप महान हैं, महान लोगों के प्रवर्तक हैं, समस्त प्रजा के कल्याण के लिए कार्य करें। अपनी कृपा दृष्टि से हमें ज्ञान और शुभ बुद्धि प्रदान करें, जिससे हम सब प्रसन्न रहें और कोई भी हताश न हो।
Chapter 3 · Verse 329
›उनम् हुवेम मघवानम् इन्द्रम् अस्मिन् भरे नृतमं वाजसातौ. ›ऋण्वन्तम् उग्रम्ञु- तये समत्सु घ्नन्तं वृत्राणि स¤जितं ध- नानि
We invoke, sing and celebrate Indra, lord giver of light and wisdom, commander of honour and prosperity, highest guide and leader of humanity, in this battle of life. Instantly does he listen to our prayers, bright and blazing is he in the battles and contests of life for protection, killer where he must be, breaker of the clouds of darkness, ignorance and poverty, and he is the winner, collector and consolidator of the wealths of life. We invoke him for protection, progress and victory in our battles of life.
हे धनवान इन्द्र देव! हम इस जीवन-संग्राम में आपकी स्तुति करते हैं, आप ही प्रकाश और ज्ञान के दाता, सम्मान और समृद्धि के अधिपति हैं। आप तत्काल हमारी प्रार्थनाएँ सुनते हैं, अंधकार और अज्ञान के मेघों को भेदकर, जीवन की संपदाओं को एकत्रित करने वाले, विजय दिलाने वाले हैं।

उदु ब्रह्माण्यैरत श्रवस्येन्द्रं समर्ये महया वसिष्ंह. Å यो विश्वानि श्रवसा ततानोपश्रोता म ईवतो वचाँन्सि
O brilliant sage of divine vision settled in peace, raise your voice and sing songs of celebration in honour of Indra, mighty ruler of the world. In the battle business of life, glorify him who pervades the wide worlds by his might, and as I approach him he listens close by so that my words of prayer reverberate across the spaces.
हे तेजस्वी, शांत ऋषि, अपनी वाणी को उठाओ और महान शासक इंद्र के सम्मान में विजय के गीत गाओ। वे अपनी शक्ति से समस्त लोकों में व्याप्त हैं, और जब मैं उनकी ओर बढ़ता हूँ, तो वे मेरे प्रार्थना के वचनों को ध्यान से सुनते हैं।

चक्रं यदस्याप्स्वा निषत्तमुतो तदस्मै मध्विच्चच्छद्यात्. पृथिव्यामतिषितं यद्ञुधः पयो गोष्वदधा ओषधीषु
His wheel of power and presence which operates across the spaces and rules the dynamics of nature and humanity also fills and covers the whole system of existence with honey sweets of joy for life and for the lord's own fulfilment too, the same honey which fertilises the earth and fills the clouds, the nectar that is filled in the cow's udders and sweetens the sap in the herbs.
हे प्रभु, आपकी शक्ति और उपस्थिति का चक्र जो समस्त लोकों में व्याप्त है और प्रकृति तथा मानवजाति की गतियों को संचालित करता है, वह संपूर्ण अस्तित्व को जीवन की मधुरता से भर देता है। यही मधुरता पृथ्वी को उर्वर बनाती है, मेघों को भरती है, गौओं के थनों में निवास करती है और औषधियों में मिठास भरती है।

त्यम्ञुषु वाजिनं देवज्ञुतं सहोवानं तरुतारं रथानां. अरिष्ंअनेमिं पृतनाज- माशुं स्वस्तये तार्क्ष्यमिहा हुवेम
For the sake of good and all round well being of life, we invoke and study that wind and electric energy of the middle regions which is fast and victorious, moved by divine nature, powerful, shaker of the clouds and energiser of sound waves, inviolable, war-like heroic and most dynamic, moving at the speed of energy.
हम कल्याण और सर्वतोमुखी कल्याण के लिए, उस दिव्य शक्ति से प्रेरित, शक्तिशाली, विजयी, वायु और विद्युत ऊर्जा का आह्वान करते हैं, जो अत्यंत गतिशील है और सभी बाधाओं को पार करती है।

In every battle of life one after another, I invoke Indra, lord giver of wealth, honour and power, saviour Indra, protector Indra, brave Indra invoked with love and devotion, pure and powerful, universally invoked and adored. May Indra bring us the good life and all round well being.
हे इन्द्र, तू ही हमारा रक्षक और त्राता है, तू ही युद्धों में हमारा सहायक है। मैं तुझे प्रेम और भक्ति से पुकारता हूँ, हे धनवान इन्द्र, तू हमें सुख और कल्याण प्रदान कर।

यजामह इन्द्रं वज्रदक्षिणं हरीणां रथ्याँन् विव्रतानाम्. प्र श्मश्रुभिर्दोधुवद्- ञुर्ध्वधा भुवद्वि सेनाभिर्भयमानो वि राधसा
We join and adore Indra, lord of cosmic energy, who wields the thunder in his right hand and controls the versatile potentials of complementary currents of cosmic energy in the universal circuit, who with energy shakes the earthly vegetation, rises high, and with his forces and implicit potentials acts as catalytic agent and vests us with natural power and success in achievement.
हम वज्रधारी, शक्तिशाली इंद्र की स्तुति करते हैं, जो ब्रह्मांडीय ऊर्जा के विविध रूपों को नियंत्रित करते हैं, अपनी शक्ति से पृथ्वी को कंपित करते हैं और हमें विजय और सफलता प्रदान करते हैं।

सत्राहणं दाधृषिं तुम्रमिन्द्रं महा- मपारं वृषभं सुवज्रम्. हन्ता यो वृत्रं सनितोत वाजं दाता मघानि मघवा सुराधाह्
Accept, honour and exalt Indra, ruler of the world, destroyer of untruth by the rule of truth and righteousness, bold, inspiring, great, unbounded, mighty generous, wielder of the thunderbolt of law and force, who is destroyer of the dark cloud of evil and selfishness, provider of food, energy and advancement, giver of honour and excellence, magnanimous and all-ways successful achiever of glory.
हे इन्द्र देव! आप सत्य और धर्म के शासक हैं, महान, असीम और शक्तिशाली हैं। आप वज्र धारण करते हैं, अंधकारमय बुराई का नाश करते हैं और हमें अन्न, ऊर्जा तथा यश प्रदान करते हैं।
Chapter 3 · Verse 336
यो नो वनुष्यन्नभिदाति मर्त उगणा वा मन्यमानस्तुरो वा. क्षिधी युधा शवसा वा तमिन्द्राभी ष्याम वृषमणस्त्वोताः
Indra, ruler of the world, whoever the mortal single or commanding a force, proud and impetuous, that faces us with the intent to destroy, pray beat them by your power in battle. May we, brave and advancing under your protection, defeat them and keep them under control.
हे इन्द्र, जो भी मनुष्य बलवान होकर या सेना का नेतृत्व करते हुए, अहंकार और वेग से भरकर हमें नष्ट करने का प्रयास करे, हे बलशाली इन्द्र, अपनी शक्ति से युद्ध में उसे परास्त करें। आपकी रक्षा में हम भी वीर बनकर उन्हें पराजित करें और अपने वश में रखें।
Chapter 3 · Verse 337
यं वृत्रेषु क्षितयः स्पर्धमाना यं युक्तेषु तुरयन्तो हवन्ते. यं श्ञुरसातौ यम-पामुपज्मन् यं विप्रासो वाजयन्ते स इन्द्रः
Whom people invoke and call in the struggle for light and enlightenment against darkness and evil, that is Indra. Whom they call upon and press forward when the battle is raging, for victory, or when the vision is close to the mind in communion and they yarn for the union, that is Indra. Whom the sages inspire and applaud in the contests of the veterans for scientific achievement, or when the plans for action, water and energy are ripe for the green signal, that is Indra.
हे इन्द्र देव! जो प्रकाश और ज्ञान के लिए अंधकार व बुराई से संघर्ष करते हुए पुकारे जाते हैं, और जो विजय की कामना से युद्ध में आगे बढ़ते हुए आहूत होते हैं, वही आप हैं। जो विद्वान विजय के लिए प्रेरित होते हैं और जिनकी आत्माएं मिलन की अभिलाषा रखती हैं, वे भी आपको ही पाते हैं।

इन्द्रापर्वता बृहता रथेन वामीरिष आ वहतम् सुवीराह्. वीतं हव्यान्यध्वरेषु देवा वर्धेथां गीर्भिरिडया मदन्ता
Indra and Parvata, sun and cloud, come on the grand chariot of light, wind and rain, bring us lovely foods and drinks of energy for the heroic people, O powers divine and generous, receive the offerings in the yajnas of love, faith and non-violence, feed on the music of the songs, and wax with the hymns of celebration.
हे इन्द्र और पर्वत, प्रकाश और वायु के महान रथ पर आरूढ़ होकर, हमें सुन्दर, ऊर्जावान पदार्थ लाओ। हे देवगण, यज्ञों में अर्पित हव्य को स्वीकार करो और स्तुतियों से प्रसन्न होकर वृद्धि प्राप्त करो।

इन्द्राय गिरो अनिशितसर्गा अपः प्रैरयत् सगरस्य बुध्नात्. यो अक्षेणेव चक्रियौ शचीभिर्विष्वक्तस्तम्भ पृथिवीमुत द्याम्
Sing songs of praise in honour if Indra who makes incessant streams of water flow from the oceans of space and sky, and, with his cosmic power and actions, sustains the heaven and earth in motion like wheels of a chariot held in balance by the axle.
हे इन्द्र देव! आप अंतरिक्ष और आकाश के सागरों से जल की अनवरत धाराओं को प्रवाहित करते हैं, और अपने विराट बल से रथ के पहियों के समान पृथ्वी और स्वर्ग को संतुलित रखते हुए गतिमान बनाए रखते हैं। आपकी स्तुति में हम गीत गाते हैं।

को अद्य युΔक्ते धुरि गा ऋतस्य शिमीवतो भामिनो दुर्हृणाय्ञुन्. Åसन्नेषामप्सुवाहो मयोभ्ञुन्य एषां भृत्या मृणधत्स जीवात्
Who joins the bullocks to the front yoke of the chariot of Truth to-day as ever? The Lord Ruler of the universe. And he who joins the men of noble action, heroes of passion and righteousness, maintain peace and joy, may he who joins these to truth and promotes these servants of truth to prosperity live long.
हे सत्य के रथ के अग्रभाग में बैलों को कौन आज योजित करता है? वह सर्वव्यापी शासक। और जो सत्कर्म करने वालों को, पराक्रमी वीरों को, शांति और आनंद प्रदान करने वालों को सत्य से जोड़ता है, वह सत्य के इन सेवकों को समृद्धि प्रदान करे और दीर्घायु हो।

गायन्ति त्वा गायत्रिणोइ᳓र्चन्त्यर्कमर्किणः. ब्रह्माण्स्त्वा शतक्रत उद्वंशमिव येमिरे
Brahmåƒstvå ‹atakrata udva≈‹amiva yemire. The singers of Gayatri celebrate you, Indra, lord of song and joy, with the hymns of Sama-Veda. The Rks. And the sage scholars of all the Vedas, O lord of a hundred noble acts of cosmic yajna, maintain the line family.
हे इन्द्र, जो सामवेद के गायक हैं, वे गायत्री मंत्र से तुम्हारा गान करते हैं और ऋचाओं से तुम्हारी स्तुति करते हैं। हे सौ यज्ञों के स्वामी, वेदों के विद्वान तुम्हारी महिमा का गान करते हैं।

इमम् इन्द्र सुतं पिब ज्येष्ंहम् अमर्त्यं मदम्. ›उक्रस्य त्वाभ्यक्षरन् धारा ऋतस्य सादने
Indra, lord ruler, breaker of the cloud, releaser of the waters of life, ride your chariot of the latest design and come. The horses are yoked with the right mantra and necessary stuffs. And may the high-priest of knowledge with his words of knowledge exhilarate you at heart.
हे इन्द्र देव, आप अमृतमय सोम रस का पान करें। ज्ञान के प्रवाह से युक्त होकर, अपने निवास स्थान पर प्रसन्न हों।
Chapter 3 · Verse 345
यदिन्द्र चित्र म इह नास्ति त्वादातमद्रिवः. राधस्तन्नो विदद्वस उभया हस्त्या भर
Rådhastanno vidadvasa ubhayå hastyå bhara. Indra, O lord of light and power, mysterious and sublime, refulgent ruler of the clouds and mountains, omniscient dispenser of munificence, whatever the rain of blessings showered by you, whatever the wealth and honour of success, give us with both hands.
हे इन्द्र, हे प्रकाश और शक्ति के स्वामी, हे रहस्यमय और उदात्त, हे मेघों और पर्वतों के तेजस्वी शासक, हे सर्वज्ञ, आपकी कृपा से जो भी वर्षा रूपी आशीर्वाद प्राप्त होता है, जो भी धन और सम्मान की सफलता मिलती है, उसे दोनों हाथों से हमें प्रदान करें।

›रुधी हवं तिरश्च्या इन्द्र यस्त्वा सपर्यति. सुवीर्यस्य गोमतो रायस्प्ञुर्धि महाँन् असि
Suv∂ryasya gomato råyaspμurdhi mahå~n asi. Indra, listen to the invocation of the devotee's voice of deep silence who offers service and homage to you, and bless the devotee with wealth of brave progeny, lands, cows, knowledge and total fulfilment. You are great, unbounded is your munificence.
हे इन्द्र, आपकी सेवा और अर्चना करने वाले भक्त की मौन पुकार को सुनें, और उसे वीर संतान, भूमि, गौधन, ज्ञान तथा पूर्णता का महान धन प्रदान करें। आप महान हैं, आपकी उदारता असीम है।
Chapter 3 · Verse 347
असावि सोम इन्द्र ते शविष्ंह धृष्णवा गहि. Å त्वा पृणक्त्विन्द्रियं रजः स्ञुर्यो न रश्मिभिः
Å två Pæƒaktvindriya≈ raja¨ sμuryo na ra‹mibhi¨. Indra, lord ruler of power, strong and resolute, come, this soma has been distilled for you. May it exhilarate and strengthen your mind as the sun fills and brightens the sky with its rays.
हे इन्द्र देव, शक्ति के शासक, बलवान और दृढ़, पधारें, आपके लिए यह सोम रस तैयार है। जैसे सूर्य अपनी किरणों से आकाश को प्रकाशित करता है, वैसे ही यह सोम रस आपके मन को आनंदित और बलवान करे।

एन्द्र याहि हरिभिरुप कण्वस्य सुष्ंउतिम्. दिवो अमुष्य शासतो दिवं यय दिवावसो
Divo amu¶ya ‹åsato diva≈ yaya divåvaso. Indra, ruler of the world, come with all your powers and perceptions to the sage's adoration and instruction, and from the light and exhortation of the elevating sage, O seeker of enlightenment, go and rise to the heights of divinity.
हे इन्द्र देव, अपने हरि (घोड़ों) के साथ कश्यप ऋषि की स्तुति और उपदेश के लिए शीघ्र पधारें, और उस दिव्य प्रकाश से प्रेरित होकर, हे ज्ञान के साधक, आप भी दिव्यता की ऊँचाइयों पर आरोहण करें।
Chapter 3 · Verse 349
Å त्वा गिरो रथीरिवास्थुः सुतेषु गिर्वणः. अभि त्वा समन्ञुषत गावो वत्सं न धेनवः
Indra, adorable lord of glory, when the soma sense of life's beauty and meaning is realised, let our voices of adoration reach you fast as a charioteer, and as mothers out of love incline to their children, so let our voices too closely abide with you.
हे महिमावान प्रभु इंद्र, जब जीवन की सुंदरता और अर्थ का सोमरस रूपी ज्ञान प्राप्त होता है, तब हमारी स्तुति की वाणी रथवान की भांति तीव्र गति से आप तक पहुंचे, और जैसे वात्सल्यमयी माताएं अपने बछड़ों की ओर झुकती हैं, वैसे ही हमारी वाणी भी प्रेमपूर्वक आपके समीप बनी रहे।

एतो न्विन्द्रं स्तवाम शुद्धं शुद्धेन साम्ना. ›उद्धैर् उक्थैर् वावृध्वाँन्सम् शुद्धैराषीर्वान् ममत्तु
Come, friends, and, with happy chant of pure holy Sama songs, adore Indra, pure and bright spirit and power of the world, who feels pleased and exalted by honest unsullied songs of adoration. Let the supplicant with a pure heart please and win the favour of Indra and rejoice.
हे मित्रो, आओ, शुद्ध साम गानों से शुद्ध और उज्ज्वल इंद्र की स्तुति करें, जो पवित्र भजनों से प्रसन्न होते हैं। शुद्ध हृदय से प्रार्थना करने वाले को इंद्र की कृपा प्राप्त हो और वह आनंदित हो।
Chapter 3 · Verse 351
यो रयिं वो रयिन्तमो यो द्युम्नैर्द्युम्न- वत्तमः. सोमः सुतः स इन्द्र तेइ᳓स्ति स्वधा- पते मदः
Indra, supreme lord of your own nature, power and law, that soma beauty and bliss of the world of existence created by you, which is most abundant in wealth and brilliance, which is most glorious in splendour and majesty, is all yours, all for yourself, all your own pleasure, passion and ecstasy. (Rg. 6-44-1)
हे ऐश्वर्य और बल के स्वामी इंद्र देव, आपके द्वारा निर्मित इस जगत् में जो सोम रस धन और तेज से परिपूर्ण है, वह पूर्णतः आपका ही है, आपकी ही प्रसन्नता और मद के लिए है।

प्रत्यस्मै पिपीषते विश्वानि विदुषे भर. अरΔगमाय जग्मयेइ᳓पश्चादध्वने नरः
AraΔgamåya jagmayeípa‹cådadhvane nara¨. O people, lovers of yajna, provide all facilities of the world for this Indra, ruler and patron of knowledge and culture, bold and courageous leading scholar thirsting for knowledge and constantly going forward to reach the expansive bounds of his subject, never tarrying, never looking back.
हे यज्ञप्रिय मनुष्यों, उस ज्ञानवान, साहसी और निरंतर प्रगतिशील इंद्र के लिए, जो अपने विषय की विशालता को प्राप्त करने के लिए अग्रसर हैं, इस संसार की समस्त सुविधाएँ अर्पित करो।

Å नो वयो वयः शयम् महान्तम् गह्व- रेष्ंहाम् महान्तम् प्ञुर्विणेष्ंहाम् उग्रम् वचो अपावधीः
Indra, give us a full age of good health, bless our soul vested and rested in existence, raise it to greatness now lying in the depth of the heart cave, and raise our mind and intelligence, bound by previous karma, to purity and efficiency. Cleanse our thoughts and speech of violence and passion.

Tuvikμurmim æt∂¶aham indra≈ ‹avi¶¢ha satpatim. Indra, bravest of the brave, protector of the good and true, just as we turn the chariot, so do we draw your attention and pray you turn to us and come for our protection, welfare and enlightenment, lord of infinite action and conqueror of enemies.

Rak¶å samasya no nida¨. Whatever are your sharpest and most awful weapons for the destruction of destroyers, with those weapons, pray, protect us against all maligners and enemies.

Vi no råye duro vædhi. Like the roar of thunder you are loud and bold in manifestation in existence. O dynamic presence of infinite light and generous flow of energy, you pervade and energise our perceptions and our will for action and advancement. Pray open and widen the doors of wealth, honour and excellence for us all.

Tebhirna¨ soma mæŒaya. The streams of your piety, purity, peace and plenty rain in showers for the pure heart and soul in humanity. O Soma, with those showers, pray bless us with happiness, prosperity and all round well being.

Asya yaj¤asya sukratum. We choose Agni, the fire, as prime power of social yajna, which carries the fragrance of yajna universally across the earth, the sky and even to the heavens, and which is the chief creator of prosperity and maker of beautiful forms.
हे अग्निदेव, आप यज्ञ के प्रमुख देव हैं, जो समस्त विश्व के ज्ञान के भण्डार हैं। हम आपको यज्ञ के पुरोहित के रूप में स्वीकार करते हैं, जो इस यज्ञ को पूर्णता प्रदान करते हैं।

Asi hotå na ∂Œya¨. Agni, omniscient and omnipresent power, bring us here the brilliant divine gifts of yajna for the pure at heart. You alone are the chief priest and performer of the yajna of creation. You alone are adorable.

Yå jåtå pμutadak¶aså. For the creation, preservation and promotion of soma, peace and joy of life, we invoke Mitra and Varuna, life energies of prana and udana in systemic circulation, which are purifying, vitalising and enlightening for the body, mind and soul.

For our enlightenment and spiritual advancement, we invoke Mitra and Varuna, light of the sun and motive energy of the wind, both guardians of the light of truth and natural laws of Divinity, which, by that very light of truth, extend the operation of that law in the Lord's creation upto the mind and soul of humanity.

Indra, the omnipresent Spirit, Indra, the universal energy of vayu or maruts, and Indra, the solar energy, the bond of unity and sustenance in things, co-existent synthesis of equal and opposite complementarities of positive and negative, activiser of speech, lord of the thunderbolt and the golden light of the day and the year.
हे इन्द्र देव! आप ही वाणी के संयोजक हैं, वज्रधारी हैं और स्वर्णमय प्रकाश से युक्त हैं। आप ही सब कुछ धारण करने वाले, सर्वव्यापी और समस्त शक्तियों के उद्गम हैं।

इन्द्र वाजेषु नोइ᳓व सहस्रप्रधनेषु च. उग्र उग्राभिर्ञुतिभिः
Ugra ugråbhirμutibhi¨. Indra, lord of light and omnipotence, in a thousand battles of life and prize contests, protect us with bright blazing ways of protection and advancement.
हे इन्द्र, हे शक्तिमान, जीवन की सहस्रों युद्धों और प्रतियोगिताओं में, अपनी तेजस्वी और उन्नतकारी सुरक्षा से हमारा रक्षण करें।

इन्द्रो दीर्घाय चक्षस आ स्ञुर्यं रोहयद्दिवि. वि गोभिर् अद्रिम् ऐरयत्
Vi gobhir adrim airayat. Indra, lord omnipotent, raised the sun high up in the heavens for expansive light and vision. With the rays of the sun, He forms and moves the cloud for rain.
हे इन्द्र, सर्वशक्तिमान प्रभु! आपने विस्तृत प्रकाश और दृष्टि के लिए सूर्य को ऊँचे आकाश में स्थापित किया। उन्हीं सूर्य की किरणों से आप वर्षा के लिए मेघों का निर्माण करते हैं और उन्हें गति प्रदान करते हैं।

इन्द्रे अग्ना नमो बृहत् सुवृक्तिमेरयामहे. धिया धेना अवस्यवः
Dhiyå dhenå avasyava¨. Salutations and high honour to Indra and Agni, leading lights of action and advancement with enlightenment. Let us offer them high praise and gratitude in the best of words with the best of thoughts. We need protection, and they are protectors and guides in our course of progress.

ता वाम् गीर्भिर्विपन्यवः प्रयस्वन्तो हवा- महे. मेधसाता सनिष्यवः
With songs of praise, bearing homage and havi for the holy fire, we invoke and invite you to our yajna in search of higher initiative and further self advancement.
हे देवगण, हम स्तुति गानों और यज्ञ सामग्री के साथ आपकी स्तुति करते हैं, ज्ञान और उन्नति की अभिलाषा से आपको अपने यज्ञ में आमंत्रित करते हैं।

O lord of absolute abundance and creativity, sustainer of all worlds of existence by absolute power and grandeur, you are all bliss for the people of vibrancy, action and gratitude. Pray bring us showers of peace, purity and power for the good life.
हे सर्वव्यापी, सर्वशक्तिमान प्रभु, आप ही समस्त लोकों के आधार हैं, समस्त प्राणियों को शक्ति और आनंद प्रदान करने वाले हैं।

तम् त्वा धर्त्तारम् ओण्योýः पवमान स्वर्- दृशम्. हिन्वे वाजेषु वाजिनम्
That lord sustainer of earth and heaven, pure and purifying sanctifier, watchful guardian and giver of bliss, absolute victor in the evolutionary battles of existence, we invoke, exalt and glorify for our good and advancement.

वृषा, शोणो अभिकनिक्रदद् गा नदयन्नेषि पृथिवीमुत द्याम्. इन्द्रस्येव वग्नुरा षृण्व आजौ प्रचोदयन्नर्षसि वाचमेमाम्
Generous, joyous and refulgent Soma spirit divine pervades the stars and planets and vibrates in the sun rays, making the heaven and earth resound. It is the very voice of Indra, lord omnipotent, heard in the dynamics of existence, awakening the spirit, and it inspires this holy speech to burst forth in adoration.
हे सोम देव! आप प्रचुर, आनंदमय और तेजस्वी होकर समस्त लोकों में व्याप्त हैं, सूर्य की किरणों में स्पंदित होते हुए स्वर्ग और पृथ्वी को गुंजायमान कर रहे हैं। आप ही इंद्र के समान सामर्थ्यवान हैं, जो इस पवित्र वाणी को प्रेरणा देते हुए अस्तित्व की गति में सुनाई देते हैं।
Chapter 3 · Verse 807
रसाय्यः पयसा पिन्वमान ईरयन्नेषि मधुमन्तम् अँन्शुम्. पवमान सन्तनिमेषि कृण्वन्निन्द्राय सोम परिषिच्यमानः
O Soma, stream of divine joy exalted with songs of praise, inspiring honey sweets of vital growth and enlightenment, you go forward, pure and purifying, and release continuous showers of ecstasy for the soul for its grandeur and glory when you are honoured and adored by the celebrants.
हे सोम, स्तुतियों से उद्दीप्त, दिव्य आनंद के स्रोत, जीवन वृद्धि और ज्ञान के मधुर अमृत को प्रेरित करते हुए, तुम शुद्ध और शुद्धिकारक होकर आगे बढ़ते हो, और जब भक्त तुम्हारा सम्मान और पूजन करते हैं, तब आत्मा की महानता और महिमा के लिए परमानंद की निरंतर वर्षा करते हो।

Thus vibrate and flow on, spirit of ecstasy, for joy, bending and breaking the clouds which hold up the rain and radiations of light, and, bearing bright light and illuminative varieties of knowledge, continue to flow on, O Soma, generous and exalted presence, lover of showers and light and bearer of the bolt of power and force to strike down the negativities.
हे सोमदेव, आप आनंददायक और मदमस्त होकर प्रवाहित हों, वर्षा और प्रकाश की किरणों को धारण करने वाले मेघों को झुकाते और विदीर्ण करते हुए। हे सोम, आप ज्ञान के प्रकाश और विविधताओं को धारण करते हुए, वर्षा और प्रकाश के प्रेमी के रूप में, शक्ति के वज्र से नकारात्मकताओं का नाश करते हुए, बहते रहें।

Två≈ Vætre¶vindra satpati≈ narastvå≈ k嶢håsvarvata¨. Indra, lord of power and advancement, you alone we invoke and call upon for acquisition of food, energy, honour, excellence and progress. All of us, leading people, makers, poets, artists, artisans and architects of the nation, fast advancing in all directions, invoke and exhort you, protector and promoter of universal truth and values in human struggles for light, goodness and generosity, and the wealth of life.

स त्वं नश्चित्र वज्रहस्त धृष्णुया मह स्तवानो अद्रिवः. गामश्वं रथ्यमिन्द्र सं किर सत्रा वाजं न जिग्युषे
Indra, lord of wondrous powers and performance, wielding the thunderbolt of justice and punishment in hand, great and glorious, breaker of the clouds and shaker of mountains, invoked and adored in song, with truth and science, power and force, collect, organise and win for us the wealth of lands, cows and rays of the sun, horses, transports and chariots like the victories of wealth and glory for the ambitious nation.
हे वज्रहस्त, अद्भुत सामर्थ्यवान इन्द्रदेव, आपकी स्तुति करते हुए हम प्रार्थना करते हैं कि आप सत्य और बल से युक्त होकर, हमें भूमि, गौओं, सूर्य की किरणों, अश्वों और रथों के समान धन-वैभव की विजय प्रदान करें। हे महान, पर्वत-भंजक इन्द्र, आप हमें विजय दिलाएं।

अभि प्र वः सुराधसमिन्द्रमर्च यथा विदे. यो जरितृभ्यो मघवा पुर्ञुवसुः सह- स्रेणेव शिक्षति
To the best of your intention and purpose and for whatever you wish to achieve, pray to Indra, lord of glory, world power and promotion and means of success, who gives a thousandfold wealth, honour and excellence to his celebrants.

Like the commander of a hundred armies, with his power and force, Indra rushes forward to fight and win, and he destroys the demons of darkness and want for the charitable giver. The gifts of this universal giver of food and sustenance feed and support humanity like streams flowing down from the mountains.
हे इंद्र, आप सौ सेनापतियों के समान पराक्रमी हैं, जो अंधकार और अभाव के राक्षसों का नाश करते हैं। आपके द्वारा दिए गए अन्न और पोषण के दान, पर्वतों से बहने वाली धाराओं के समान, समस्त मानवजाति का भरण-पोषण करते हैं।

Indra, lord of mind and soul, wielder of adamantine will and energy, zealous celebrants and leading lights serve and adore you today as ever before in the past. Thus adored and contemplated, listen to the prayers of the devotees in meditation, come and arise in your own abode of the sage's heart.
हे वज्रधारी इंद्र, आज भक्तगण आपकी स्तुति करते हुए आपकी सेवा में उपस्थित हैं। हे देव, हमारी प्रार्थनाओं को सुनें और अपने हृदय रूपी निवास में पधारें।

मत्स्वा सुशिप्रिन् हरिवस् तमीमहे त्वया भ्ञुषन्ति वेधसः. तव श्रवा¤स्युप- मान्युक्थ्य सुतेष्विन्द्र गिर्वणह्

यस्ते मदो वरेण्यस्तेना पवस्वान्धसा. देवावीरघश¤सहा
Devåv∂ragha‹a¤sahå. The soma ecstasy that's yours, that is the highest love of our choice. Flow on, radiate, and sanctify us beyond satiation with light divine for the soul, protector and saviour as you are of the holy and destroyer of sin and evil for the good.
हे सोम! जो आपका मद (आनंद) सबसे श्रेष्ठ है, वह हमारी चुनी हुई परम प्रीति है। आप दिव्य प्रकाश से हमें तृप्त करते हुए, पवित्रता की रक्षा करते हुए और पाप का नाश करते हुए प्रवाहित हों।

जघ्निर्वृत्रममित्रियं सस्निर्वाजं दिवेदिवे. गोषातिरश्वसा असि
Go¶åtira‹vaså asi. Soma, power and peace of divinity, destroyer of the evil and darkness of negative forces, constant catalytic force of nature in creative evolution day in and day out, you are the giver of earthly life and dynamic motion for onward progress.

Be bright and blazing, integrated with creative powers of growth, perception and imagination, sojourning over space and time yet resting in your seat at the centre of existence.
हे तेजस्वी प्रभु, अपनी सृजनशील शक्तियों के साथ एकाकार होकर, स्थान और काल में विचरण करते हुए भी, अस्तित्व के केंद्र में अपने आसन पर विराजमान हों।

अयं प्ञुषा रयिर्भगः सोमः पुनानो अर्षति. पतिर्विश्वस्य भ्ञुमनो व्यख्यद्रोदसी उभे
Patirvi‹vasya bhμumano vyakhyadrodas∂ ubhe. protector, wealth and honour of the world, power and the glory, Soma that is pure and purifying, ever going forward with the world. It is the master, sustainer and ruler of the vast expansive universe and illuminates both heaven and earth.
हे सोम! तुम विश्व के रक्षक, धन और ऐश्वर्य के दाता हो। तुम शुद्ध और शुद्ध करने वाले हो, जो समस्त ब्रह्मांड को प्रकाशित करते हुए निरंतर आगे बढ़ते हो।

समु प्रिया अन्ञुषत गावो मदाय घृष्वयः. सोमासः कृण्वते पथः पवमानास इन्दवः
Somåsa¨ kæƒvate patha¨ pavamånåsa indava¨. Dear daring voices exalt and extol Soma for the sheer joy of illumination. Indeed men of Soma vision and courage, blazing brilliant, pure, purifying and pursuing, create and carve their own paths of progress.
हे प्रिय, सामर्थ्यवान वाणी, सोम के आनंदमय प्रकाश के लिए उसकी स्तुति करो। सोम के दृष्टा और साहसी पुरुष, जो तेजस्वी, शुद्ध और प्रगति के मार्ग प्रशस्त करते हैं।
Chapter 3 · Verse 820
य ओजिष्ंहस्तमा भर पवमान श्रवाय्यम्. यः प¤च चर्षणीरभि रयिम् येन वनामहे
Ya¨ pa¤ca car¶aƒ∂rabhi rayim yena vanåmahe. O pure and purifying Soma, bring us honour and excellence most lustrous and renowned, valued among all the five classes of people by which we may be able to win the real material and spiritual wealth of life.
हे सोम, जो पांचों वर्णों में प्रशंसनीय है, हमें वह ऐश्वर्य प्रदान करो जिससे हम जीवन की वास्तविक भौतिक और आध्यात्मिक संपत्ति प्राप्त कर सकें।

वृषा मतीनां पवते विचक्षणः सोमो अह्नां प्रतरीतोषसां दिवः. प्राणा सिन्ध्ञुनां कलशाँन् अचिक्रददिन्द्रस्य हार्द्याविशन्- मनीषिभिः
Generous inspirer of the intelligent and meditative souls, Soma pervades, flows and purifies. Omniscient and all watching, it is the illuminator of the day, the dawn and the sun. Life energy of floods, rivers, oceans and the seas, it vibrates in all forms of existence. It loves the sacred heart and with love it enters and blesses the heart core of the pious and powerful soul of humanity. Such is Soma celebrated by the sages and wise scholars.
हे सोम! आप बुद्धिमान और ध्यान करने वाले आत्माओं के उदार प्रेरक हैं, जो दिन, भोर और सूर्य को प्रकाशित करते हैं। आप नदियों और महासागरों की जीवन ऊर्जा हैं, जो पवित्र हृदय में प्रेम से प्रवेश करते हैं और सभी प्राणियों को आशीर्वाद देते हैं।

मनीषिभिः पवते प्ञुर्व्यः कविर्नृभिर्यतः परि कोशाँन् असिष्यदत्. त्रितस्य नाम जन- यन्मधु क्षरन्निन्द्रस्य वायुं सख्याय वर्धयन्
Eternal, all-watchful, poetic creator celebrated by sages and meditated by pious people pervades, energises and holds to the centre all forms of existence from the from Prakrti and its three modes of sattva, rajas and tamas all forms and names of things, letting streams of honey sweets flow, and releasing the joint, cooperative and friendly activity of Indra and Vayu energy and its flow at the cosmic level, and the soul and mind at the human level.
हे शाश्वत, सर्वज्ञ, काव्यात्मक सृष्टिकर्ता, ऋषियों द्वारा स्तुत और साधकों द्वारा ध्याये गए, आप प्रकृति और उसके तीन गुणों से उत्पन्न सभी रूपों और नामों को व्याप्त करते हैं, मधुरता का प्रवाह करते हैं, और इन्द्र तथा वायु की संयुक्त, सहकारी और मैत्रीपूर्ण क्रिया को बढ़ाते हैं।

अयं पुनान उषसो अरोचयदयं सिन्धु- भ्यो अभवदु लोककृत्. अयं त्रिः सप्त दुदु- हान आशिरं सोमो हृदे पवते चारु मत्सरः
This Soma, illuminating the dawns, became the of Prakrti, the one material cause of the universe. Creating the milk of nourishment and sustenance of life from thrice seven orders of Prakrti, Mother Nature, its own shakti, that is, three modes of sattva, rajas and tamas (mind, motion and matter), two generalities of Mahat and Ahankara (tangible nature from the intangible, and identity from the tangible) and five specificities of basic elements (Akasha, Vayu, Agni, Apah and Prthivi), it flows pure, purifying, beatific and ecstatic in the heart core of the soul.
यह सोम, प्रभात को प्रकाशित करता हुआ, विश्व का मूल कारण प्रकृति बना। यह तीन, सात, और तीन (सत्त्व, रज, तम) के क्रमों से, जो कि तीन प्रकार की प्रकृति हैं, हृदय में शुद्ध, पवित्र और आनंददायक होकर प्रवाहित होता है।

एवा ह्यसि वीरयुरेवा श्ञुर उत स्थिरः. एवा ते राध्यं मनः
Evå te rådhya≈ mana¨. You love and honour the brave, you are brave yourself, you are definite in intention and undisturbed in attitudes. You are now ripe for the perfection of mind to experience the soul's beatitude in, divine presence.
हे ईश्वर, आप वीर, पराक्रमी और स्थिर हैं, और आप ऐसे ही हृदय को प्रिय मानते हैं। आपका मन पूर्णता के लिए परिपक्व है, जो दिव्य उपस्थिति में आत्मा के आनंद का अनुभव करने के लिए तैयार है।

एवा रातिस्तुवीमघ विश्वेभिर्धायि धतृभिः. अधा चिदिन्द्र नः सचा
Adhå cidindra na¨ sacå. Indra, generous lord of the wealth and glory of the world, thus by practice and meditation, is divine generosity cultivated and achieved by all those who bear and bring the offerings to you. O lord of power and immense generosity, be our friend and companion.
हे ऐश्वर्य और शक्ति के स्वामी इन्द्र, सभी उपासकों द्वारा अर्पण की गई आहुतियों को ग्रहण करते हुए, आपके द्वारा ही यह दिव्य उदारता प्राप्त होती है। हे धन और ऐश्वर्य के दाता, आप हमारे मित्र और साथी बनें।
Chapter 3 · Verse 826
मो षु ब्रह्मेव तन्द्रयुर्भुवो वाजानाम् पते. मत्स्वा सुतस्य गोमतः
O ruler, protector and promoter of the honour and excellence of life, just as a vibrant scholar of divine knowledge never slackens into sloth from wakefulness, so you too should never be slothful and half asleep. Be ever wakeful, enjoy and guard the distilled essence of knowledge and creative achievement of wealth, honour and excellence.
हे जीवन के गौरव और उत्कृष्टता के शासक, रक्षक और प्रवर्तक, जैसे दिव्य ज्ञान का जीवंत विद्वान कभी भी आलस्य में शिथिल नहीं होता, वैसे ही आप भी कभी आलसी और अर्ध-निद्रा में न रहें। ज्ञान और रचनात्मक उपलब्धि के सार का सदा जागृत रहकर आनंद लें और उसकी रक्षा करें।

सख्ये त इन्द्र वाजिनो मा भेम शवसस्पते. त्वामभि प्र नोनुमो जेतारम् अपराजितम्
Tvåmabhi pra nonumo jetåram aparåjitam. We are the friends of Indra, we are the fighters of life and humanity. Indra, lord of might, never shall we succumb to fear while we are under the cover of your to you, supreme victor, unbeaten since eternity.
हे इन्द्र, हे बल के स्वामी, हम आपके मित्र हैं, जीवन और मानवता के योद्धा हैं। आपकी शरण में रहते हुए हम कभी भयभीत नहीं होंगे, हे परम विजेता, हे अनादि अजेय।
Chapter 3 · Verse 829
प्ञुर्वीरिन्द्रस्य रातयो न वि दस्यन्त्य्ञुतयः. यदा वाजस्य गोमत स्तोतृभ्यो मँन्हते मघम्
Yadå våjasya gomata stotæbhyo ma~nhate magham. The eternal gifts of Indra, lord magnificent, never fail, His favours and protections never fade, nor exhaust, because the munificence of the lord of earth and His bounties of wealth and honour always flow in abundance more and ever more for the devotees.
हे इन्द्र देव! आपकी कृपा और ऐश्वर्य कभी समाप्त नहीं होते, क्योंकि पृथ्वी के स्वामी के रूप में आपकी उदारता और धन-सम्मान के उपहार भक्तों के लिए निरंतर प्रचुर मात्रा में प्रवाहित होते रहते हैं।
